And yet nothing will happen but a bunch of finger wagging. The Iranians know Obama is not serious about stopping them from getting nukes and that he is a lightweight. Obama's need to be liked and prove that he understands and appreciates them does not translates into them cooperating with him. As is the case with just about every other country and their government in which sure they "like" him alot but they are simply going to continue doing what is in their national interest whether that is also in our interest or not. Its one of those things we all learn at some point when we are put in charge of something, its nice to be liked, but it doesn't get the job done. The Iranians will continue to build nuclear weapons, and probably already have some. This will then make the other ME countries feel threatened and they will be pushed to develope their own to protect the balance of power in the region. I am concerned this will further corner Israel and only make a military conflict more likely. There have been quite a few strategic events which some analysts point to which also see as pushing the likelyhood even further up.

Taps always gets me. I have had to be at a number of military funerals, some for friends some for just guys in the unit I was in and even in the Funeral Detail to perform the flag folding/presentation, firing party, and casket laying. I almost always tear up and in some cases have outright had tears flowing especially when the Soldier had a wife and children though I have hid it from the family. The tears are for them for sure and I share their sadness but I also think what if that was my wife and son as it could have been or still could be.
These also get me:

Stuffed in the turkey. I like to get the double cheeseburgers with bacon and jalepenos that way you dont even need to really spice them up at all though some people like to add little things to like some celery, a little chicken broth, salt and pepper. About a dozen does fine for your average turkey.

What's Your View on Tipping?
by minimus intypically, i give at least 20% on my total bill.
if the service or the waitress is especially charming, maybe more.. i wonder, when you sit at a bar/restaurant and have a meal and drinks and then order a take out ( i do this for my mother quite often) are you supposed to tip on everything, including the takeout??.
when i stay in a hotel, i typically leave 2 or 3 dollars per day for the maid.

Pretty simple for me.
Bad service=Bad tip (Rarely if ever none it has to be exceptionally bad service but I would call bad 10% or less)
Average service=average tip (anywhere between the 10% and 20%)
Good service=Good tip (20% or more)

Mini-Skirts
by IMHO inwhy are 'sisters' banned from wearing mini-skirts yet can wear shorts and swimwear even bikinis?.
-
LightCloud
Well I believe that "ban" applied to wearing it to the KH, not in general, just as Sisters would not be "allowed" if you will to wear shorts or bikinis to the KH. Not saying I agree but thats at least consistent.

More and more stuff comes out about this guy and his past and it becomes even clearer that this wasn't him just snapping but this was a willful and deliberate act in realizing his beliefs and interpretation of Islam. The public statements he has made were more than enough to get this guy court martialed but for the fact he is of a protected class. The PC thing really screwed us and is indirectly responsible for the 13 deaths and the other casualties. I would really like to know what damage this guy did to his patients as has been reported he attempted to convert them, berate them about their actions as Soldiers, and on and on.
Part of an interesting article:
Major Nidal Malik Hasan worshipped at a mosque led by a radical imam said to be a "spiritual adviser" to three of the hijackers who attacked America on Sept 11, 2001.
Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in Texas, attended the controversial Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as two of the September 11 terrorists, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt. His mother's funeral was held there in May that year.
The preacher at the time was Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born Yemeni scholar who was banned from addressing a meeting in London by video link in August because he is accused of supporting attacks on British troops and backing terrorist organisations.
Hasan's eyes "lit up" when he mentioned his deep respect for al-Awlaki's teachings, according to a fellow Muslim officer at the Fort Hood base in Texas, the scene of Thursday's horrific shooting spree.
As investigators look at Hasan's motives and mindset, his attendance at the mosque could be an important piece of the jigsaw. Al-Awlaki moved to Dar al-Hijrah as imam in January, 2001, from the west coast, and three months later the September 11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hamzi and Hani Hanjour began attending his services. A third hijacker attended his services in California.
Hasan was praying at Dar al-Hijrah at about the same time, and the FBI will now want to investigate whether he met the two terrorists.
Charles Allen, a former under-secretary for intelligence at the Department of Homeland Security, has described al-Awlaki, who now lives in Yemen, as an "al-Qaeda supporter, and former spiritual leader to three of the September 11 hijackers... who targets US Muslims with radical online lectures encouraging terrorist attacks from his new home in Yemen"....
