So Maria didn't think C.T. Russell was guilty of adultery but rather what she considered to be flirtateous, inappropriate conduct with a younger woman. It would seem weird for someone who never consumated marraige with their own wife to be some sort of sexual "jelly-fish". I think this court report is a non-issue.

DOES THE BIBLE really really EXIST?
by Terry inthe bible did not exist in jesus' day nor in the lifespan of his apostles.. people didn't walk around with one (bible) tucked under their arm.. christians didn't carry one (bible) door to door for preaching and teaching.. the closest thing to the bible was the septuigint greek translation of hebrew scriptures which not one person in a 10,000 had ever seen!.
creation of the septuagint (wikipedia article).
...in the third century bce[6].

Lot's of passion in this subject. Suprising that it isn't matched by scholars attempting to prove the authenticity and accuracy of the Illiad, another ancient Greek document we don't have the original of, only having a few hundred copies dated five hundred years after the original.

My absolute favorite musical. I saw it at the Fox in St. Louis and followed up with a summer show at the Muny. Would leap at the chance to see it again sometime.

Watchtower cleans out Kingdom Hall Library's ...
by RR inlast night i got a call from a chap in the uk, who recently left the jw's.
he wanted to compare notes with his us counterparts.. he said that a few years ago, (i think about 2 years ago) the society cleaned out all the literature from every kingdom hall, particularly russell and rutherford books and anything prior to 1950. giving each hall a computer with the watchtower cd rom for them to use for research.
he wanted to know if the same was done in the states.

Honestly Kingdom Hall libraries are merely decorations. Who actually reads those old books? They have their hands full keeping up with the continual printing of new books, magazines, etc. I think the only use Rutherford's books got at my old hall was when I was a kid and we used to look at them to find the pictures of breasts.

lol - my username was chosen at random and has no meaning. I wanted to be anonymous on this forum but then they added gravatar support and there I am smiling for the world to see.

RR - you'll love this experience.
When I was still a JW about four years ago I got to looking at the old Russell era literature in the library and brought it to the PO's attention about the pyramidology and stuff in it, which I considered Satanic. He mentioned that the Society? CO? had mentioned something about getting rid of the old literature. I don't know if it was a recommendation or directive. It seems that if it was a directive it would have already been done. If it was just an encouragement I could see why they hadn't yet followed through. I don't remember the exact details of what as said.

Did you loathe going in field service, if so why?
by HappyGuy ini always felt like i was not a "spiritual" person because i loathed going in field service.
i'm not even sure why i loathed it.
i am very outgoing and can talk to anyone, anytime, about anything.

I didn't like it but during the last year when I just went out with the Bible it actually was a much better experience. However if you want to talk to actual people about the Bible there are much better avenues instead of wearing your nuckles out on empty homes.
(I also loved sausage egg biscuts from Hardee's - that was consistently good.)

Charles Taze Russell: His Life and Times: The Man, the Millennium and the Message
by RR incharles taze russell: his life and times: the man, the millennium and the message by fredrick zydek is the latest biography on pastor russell, and i must say i am very impressed.
i have read other historiees on the pastor russell by zydek (all unpublished manuscripts) but this one is far better than the last one authored by charles redeker aq few years ago.
zydek is a catholic.. the author is neither a bible student or a jehovah's witness.

How does this compare with Charles Redeker's "Pastor C.T. Russell: Messenger of Millenial Hope"
