  gang accused of killing to sell human fat fri nov 20, 11:03 am etlima (reuters) peruvian police said on thursday they had broken up a gang that allegedly killed dozens of people and sold their fat to buyers who used it to make cosmetics.. four peruvians were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, murder and trafficking in human fat.. the group stored the fat it collected in used soda and water bottles, which police showed reporters.. "we have people detained who have declared and stated how they murdered people with the aim being to extract their fat in rudimentary labs and sell it," said police commander angel toldeo.. in addition to those taken into custody, police said they were searching for others who bought fat from the gang or might have worked with it.. remains from some of the victims were found at a rural house in the region of huanuco where the group worked, according police video.. police said they were investigating 60 disappearances in the area that might be linked to the gang.. the investigation started this month after police heard about a shipment of fat that arrived in lima by bus from peru's mountains..   Trying to annul your baptism, WT says forget about it.

  the koolaid wt issue for february has an interesting article about when your baptism can be considered invalid.but the main thrust of the article is aimed at making it super clear that if you were present at your bapt.

  talk and answered the two questions then forget about it, elders are put on notice to not let anyone off the hook.but... if you were committing a serious sin and hid it at the time of your baptism, then it was invalid, and point is, they'd still announce you not being "one of j.w.s" so if you plead your case to walk away from the wt saying you didn't know what you were getting into, it will do no good, but it will be grounds for an announcement.just ol' mother wt tightening up loose ends.

  How do they know how you answered the 2 questions? What if you claim you said "no"? What would the legal consequences be?

  So if you were never a JW in the first place, you shouldn't be shunned.

  Well the counsel from the QFR is that elders should go ahead as if the

  person understood what he/she was getting into... that is the baptismal pool,

  if the candidates went ahead and took the dip then they were confirming this as their

  publicly shown decision for everyone to see... so if it's invalid they're announced

  as not being one of JW's and that gets you shunned just the same.

  i hope this doesn't sound too strange.

  the first wtbts book that i read was the studies in the scriptures.

  my grandfather gave my favorite cousin the entire set when we were both around 12. we read these books cover to cover like they were comic books.

  You said it WH, "snarky" plus I'll add a lot of "malarky" in them ol' tomes and newer bound volumes.

  It also creeps me out how Russell used the Royal We, when talking about just himself (I bought CD with PDFs of his books and WT articles), he represented everyone and everything in his own mind he was a "plural" what a royal ego that guy, and some say it was due to humility, yeah right. He uses the plural to seem like he's talking from having a lot of power and followers who agree with him, the psychology underwrites his feeble attempts to seem humble. The man had a big ego that's clear from his volumes and WT articles.

  What is the WORST witness social function you went to and WHY?

  my sister called me tonight, and reminded me of this, i had forgotten.

  - there was an engagement party and the whole cong was invited.

  - the fourth of six kids, and it was in a function room with no bar.. everyone was allowed one glass of wine and no one was allowed to bring any.

  Went to a pioneer dinner put on by the Service Overseer whose wife cooked a turkey dinner where the turkey was just about raw.

  They loved the raw meats, both of them on some high protein diet, the turkey was barely warm and dripping with pink juice.

  I almost threw up. Only ate the dessert brownies and carrot cake. After the turkey I could barely keep that down.

  Uggh, I just threw up a little in my mouth just thinking about that night.

  If someone posts a desperate message like PsyP's. it's not right for some folks to poke fun at it.

  I hope the best for PsyP. and that he's just dumping this forum and all it's ugliness and not life in general.

  Even when things get so bad you feel like you're swimming in a cesspool, there's always a good soul who'll

  extend a hand and get dirty to pull you out, messy or not we all suffer and I am in awe of people who are

  trained to help folks out of depression and emotional pain. I don't know how they do their stuff, but I know

  they have the training and the willingness to help. This world is too full of pain and of sick minds like the

  farce who shot people in Fort Hood. We need real heroes who will help those in need, who are hurting and

  need serious help from qualified counselors.

  PsyP if you're still reading these posts I pray and hope you'll find someone who can be your hero, to help

  pull you out of the deep pits of despair we fall into in our desperate lives. There are people who can help

  and who want to help. I wish I could help more, but I just don't know what to do or say except I know that

  there's help available. Please know there are good people all over, including in this forum who care and

  who want the best for you and others.

  just saw the 2008 movie called "2012: doomsday" by faithfilms.. what a waste of time and a waste of a dvd!!!.

  here's the plot if one can call it that:.

  "the final day on the mayan calendar finds four faithful strangers convening at an ancient temple in the heart of mexico in this apocalyptic thriller starring cliff de young and dale midkiff.

  The film maker responsible for the 2012: Doomsday (2008) movie is FAITH FIMS http://www.faithfilms.cc/

  This fundie outfit says on their website:

  " Faith Films is a new production and distribution company dedicated to creating exciting films that honestly portray subjects, themes, and people of faith.

  By producing high quality, entertaining, mainstream films with all of the resources, effects, and magic of Hollywood, Faith Films will present our positive message to the largest possible audience."

  So their newest movie is "Countdown: Jerusalem" and goes like this:

  A journalist searches for her daughter as a series of catastrophic disasters push a destabilized society toward the brink of global war.

  Their movies are charged with Fundamentalist Christian content, there's lots of references to prayer, to the cross, to Jesus etc.

  If the WT makes money out of people's fear of an Armageddon Doomsday, folks like these fundamentalists are really surpassing the WT on the fear mongering frenzy.
