there's a few posts where the term "conscious class" has been in just recently.. i'm wondering if it means the same to most jws and exjws who post here.. what does the "conscious class" mean to you?.
ok, no funny business about 'being conscious' as in awake and fully cafeinated.. if you could answer the two questions it may help some here to understand what.
this term is a lot better.

Do you consider yourself one of them?

If you could answer the two questions it may help some here to understand what
this term is a lot better. I consider myself one of them. It is strange that some in
my home congregation may also be of the 'conscious class'... There was an
estimate someplace that said up to a third of all active JWs are of the 'conscious
class'. That would be hard to believe. But it would be great if that were so.
What do you think? And thanks for your answers.
(Maybe the elder you're refering to is me :-)
Hey Oppostate,
That kinda blew my mind too! Not many people throw the term "conscious class" around
referring to the JW's who are still attending meetings but are conscious, that is they
are aware that the WT isn't God's Channel on Earth and are also aware of all the false
teachings that enslave the R&F Witnesses. You could at least tell us what country you're in???
Anyway, good to see you frequenting this site I've liked your style since you started posting.
Keep it up!
-Cattails
is there any food jw are not allowed to eat besides muff burgers..
not allowed
Wow! I read that too fast and thought it said "not swallowed".
Talk about Freudian slips of the tongue!
spoke to my dad today who attended the beckenham (london/kent) congregation's memorial - he said that for the first time the attendance was seriously down - 203 as opposed to last year's 250 and that penge (congregation that shares the hall) had a similar experience.
it's called the internet dad.. can we have a roll call of numbers from those that attended please?
(or if it's been covered already, a link?).
I visited a congregation back East.
I asked about the numbers and they had 30+
less than last year. The brother explained that
they were the second congregation meeting at
the KH that evening and so a lot of people go
to the first Memorial held that evening because
of it being earlier... Funny thing is that the
attendance at the first meeting I found out
was less than at the second meeting!
i attended one day of a two day assembly and did ok until the very last talk.
the brother was from bethal and well jw's pay closer attention to their talks, cause that is when some new info is given,,,right.
well anyways i lost focus and began to daydream, cause it became one of those talks that just talks about wasting time.
Nothing about Facebook, just a warning about the internet and
social networking sites, but no site name dropping at the CA I went to.
frankly, i am a little bit confused by this teaching.
well when i read 1 thes 4:13-18, it contradicts what the society claim.. paul wrote -.
moreover, brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant concerning those who are sleeping [in death]; that you may not sorrow just as the rest also do who have no hope.
This is an idea pertinent to another topic I read in another forum (from Ros at ChannelC), she says:
"Do we not all know that the Watchtower teaches that the 144,000 "saints" will rule as kings with Jesus Christ for 1000 years?"
Then she goes on to point out the problem with the Watchtower teaching:
1) Christ returned in 1914.
2) Wasn't it 1919 when the "annointed" who had died began to be resurrected?
3) In a little more than 4 years, Christ will have been reigning for 100 years.
4) The thousand years does not begin until after Armageddon.
5) Some of the "annointed" do not die until some time after Armageddon according to the Revelation book.
6) Jehovah's Witnesses say these numbers are literal (144,000 and 1000 years).
And she arrives at this conclusion:
"If Christ began reigning in 1914, and not all of the 144,000 have begun reigning, nor will until after Armageddon,
then at no time can it be said that Christ + 144,000 reigned for a literal 1000 years. Even if Armageddon occurred tomorrow,
Christ would have to reign for at least 1096 years Himself. The longer Armageddon is put off, and the more JWs who join
the annointed rank, ... well, you get the picture."
glutton...fails to show love for jehovah.
is food a big thing in his life?
if in the presence of others, does he selfishly ignore their needs and take more than his fair share?
at a young age i remember watching tv and commenting why is the red cross always helping people and we don't.
the second big one is if the witnesses only started up in 1890 - 1900 did jehovah not have anyone else doing the preaching work?.
as a child i don't think we think about theological problems so what tipped you off?
As a kid I wondered why all the Bible characters had beards but not the brothers at the Hall
didn't they have shaving in Egypt? Why did Jehovah tell the men not to shave the extremities of
their facial hair but all the brothers were clean shaven? Maybe it was like arm pits and legs for
ladies, in the olden days Hebrew women probably didn't shave legs and arm pits either. Funny
things a young mind can think of while bored out of your mind and made to sit still at the KH.
please, please, please let the libertarians, republicans and their offshoot the tea party, run on this issue.
oh my heavens what a joy it would be to line up all the runners and tell half of the americans - the vast majority of those who actually live on their social security, that they want to take it away.
abolish it.
