  Pioneer Takes Baby Out In Zero Wind Chill

  though i haven't been in the mood to discuss jws lately, i had to post this one.

  it's a keeper and shows how fanatical they can get:.

  on my way to work in our city's downtown area i regularly see a pioneer walking up and down the street, holding up his magazines.

  Somewhere in all that I met a young pioneer stud who, after two years and countless episodes of throwing up the food he bought me, married me and took me away from all that. And we are still living happily ever after, especially since we're no longer pioneers.

  that is so sweet.

  i luv reading all these...some threads resonate more than others. this one makes me think of that scene at the end of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", where the people who were abducted by aliens all come walking off the ship...they all shared a common, strange experience and only others like them can relate to them...

  what ever happened to that "tree of life"

  in genesis it mentions the "tree of life" that adam & eve were never to partake of... they ate off the "tree of knowledge" and then god forbid them from everlasting life.

  he stationed angels and a flaming sword there to protect the tree.. what happened to that tree, the flaming sword, and the angels?

  do you think the story was literal or like other misunderstood things, symbolic?

  How does God communicate with us?

  in the past, god spoke to humans through angels, prophets, and jesus.

  today, there are no prophets, angels don't show up anymore, and jesus isn't there to speak to us.. we can talk to god through prayer, but how does god talk to us?.

  so, other than the bible which is pretty outdated, how can god communicate with humans?

  when i said "we" are in charge of our own destiny, i was thinking in terms of myself... of course people in impoverished countries have no power, and are in desperate need of help. that is where that "faith in my fellow man" was coming from.

  p.s. i hope you don't think i would be so arrogant or ignorant to even remotely suggest that these people are in charge of their destinies. my god...um, anyone with half a brain realizes they need help... why do you think i posted that link?!!
