So I go to my first day of work.....

and behind the front desk, i see someone who looks familiar.. only when she turns and looks at me do i realize she is a witness i know.. so the lady who did my bible study, it's her daughter that is working with me.

i just find it funny...you just can't run and you definitely can't hide from these people!.

An Appalling Lack Of Manners & Social Graces

is it just me or are a lot of jehovahs witnesses just completely mannerless and lacking in social graces?.

examples....... they don't seem to say thank you for gifts or kindnesses.. i went to quite a few gatherings and burps and farts would happen without so much as a pardon me or excuse me.

i was even told once it's natural and there is no reason to say excuse me.. they will just stop in at your house if they are in the neighborhood and stay for however long without even calling or getting your hints that you happened to be on your way out.. i have met some very nice and polite witnesses but they are few and far between.. is my experience limited - has anyone else noticed rudeness, and a lack of manners and social graces?.

hmm i especially noticed this as well... when i was briefly reunited with my sister, i got her some pretty cool things, including this chime box... she never once thanked me. i started to wonder if "thank you" had now become as forbidden as "god bless you". plus, every time i asked her a question about jw's she'd say "you twit", and i never call anyone names... and i'm not even religious!

Why I am leaving JWD

i'm leaving this forum...at least temporarily.

as i mentioned in conversation over dinner at the chicago apostafest, my upcoming school schedule (which begins next week) combined with my workload will make it very difficult to be an active member on this forum.

perhaps i'll check in occassionaly when life is a little slower but for now i'd better distance myself from the on-line scene or else the other elements in my life will suffer.

it only takes two people to make an enemy when the people are on equal footing . the WTS has many "enemies" - the innocents they victimized... CHILDREN. and it that case, the WTS has to assume ALL RESPONSIBILITY, which they don't, and never will.

of course there is such a thing as a normal life. if you say there's no such thing as "normal", then you have to assert that there's no such thing as "abnormal", which is exactly what growing up under the umbrella of the witnesses IS. i honestly can't find one single GOOD thing about the organization, but if you choose to, that's your privilege and perception.

my childhood WAS stolen from me, and there's no way anyone can ever make me believe otherwise.

take a drive in a ghetto and ask yourself if these kids playing in some delapidated sandlot have "normal" childhoods?

all i have to do is recall my own experience of growing up in squalor to appreciate this comment, i don't need to take a drive to a ghetto.

every one of us is on his own path and no one has a right to tell anyone to just let go or that his struggle is not unique, because it is unique to them. everything people express here is just a tiny window into a much greater experience and can't possibly permit them to express the magnitude of it...still others don't want to put it out here in public to possibly be judged or lessened somehow by turning it into an anecdote, and that is their choice. live & let live is my belief, unless of course someone is hurting a child or helpless person or creature...
