ALIENS!! (and the downfall of religion)

let me clarify, when i say aliens, i don't mean shiny helmeted spaceship dwelling anal probers.

(although i could be proved wrong).

if any alien lifeform was found on mars or another planet or even a comet, be it tiny bacteria or even some form of non carbon based life form, would that not destroy religions grip on mankind?

It depends on what you think an alien is.

If you think an alien is a creature that was not created to live on planet earth then your definition is similar to mine.

If thats the case then I am convinced that such creatures exist.

That conviction comes from reading the bible.

If you are happy with my simple definition of an "alien" then perhaps you should compare it to the confession Jesus Christ made about where he was from:

John 8:23

So he went on to say to them: "YOU are from the realms below; I am from the realms above. YOU are from this world; I am not from this world.

here's some more bible stuff which convinces me that alien creatures exist:

Ezekiel 1:10-11

　And as for the likeness of their faces, the four of them had a man’s face with a lion’s face to the right, and the four of them had a bull’s face on the left; the four of them also had an eagle’s face. 11 　That is the way their faces were. And their wings were spreading out upward. Each one had two joining to each other, and two were covering their bodies.

I am also convinced that some of them are "like" men.

Joel 2:4-8

　"Its appearance is like the appearance of horses, and like steeds is the way they keep running. 5 　As with the sound of chariots on the tops of the mountains they keep skipping about, as with the sound of a flaming fire that is devouring stubble. It is like a mighty people, drawn up in battle order. 6 　Because of it, peoples will be in severe pains. As for all faces, they will certainly collect a glow [of excitement]. 7 "Like powerful men they run. Like men of war they go up a wall. And they go each one in his own ways, and they do not alter their paths. 8 　And one another they do not shove. As an able-bodied man in his course, they keep going; and should some fall even among the missiles, the [others] do not break off course.

I also don't have a problem with believing in shiny helmeted spaceship dwelling alien creatures.

Think you are correct though, a lot of Christians DO have a problem with this.

Russell was never a part of the WT. Russell started The Bible Students, which is still around. Rutherford was the printing end, and he broke off, took many members, and started what is now the WT. The people (today) follow the teaching of Russell...who was also off on his own trip. To be a part of the Bible Students you must follow what Russell was teaching, or they won't let you stay. same old song nad dance as the WT...they also sell Russells books.

Russell started The Bible Students, which is still around -----> The Wild Beast.

Rutherford took many members, and started what is now the WT -----> The Image of The Wild Beast.

Revelation 13:11

　And I saw another wild beast ascending out of the earth, and it had two horns like a lamb, but it began speaking as a dragon.

but it began speaking as a dragon; "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" --- they positively will not die!

Everything Jesus Christ said would happen, is really happening!

So the question remains who is the evil one that all should watch out for ?

Jesus Christ gave us some really easy ways to measure what we should watch for:

Luke 21:8

　He said: "Look out that YOU are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The due time has approached.’ Do not go after them.

and a commandment for when we saw it; "Do not go after them."

A true Christian is someone who obeys Jesus Christ ......................... right?

That's what having "faith" in Jesus is all about.

I personally hope a HUGE scandal brings it crashing down. I hope there is weeping and a gnashing of teeth. I want to see grown men break down and cry in the streets because MOTHER is a tramp. I want to see the shocked and bewildered look of shame in the eyes of the Eldubs As they see their GB/Idols crumble. I want to look down on them and say, " REAP WHAT YOU HAVE SOWN."

Yep, that is pretty much what I am convinced is going to happen!

I use the scriptures to help give some insight on what the end should be like:

Isaiah 66:5-6

5 Hear the word of Jehovah, YOU men who are trembling at his word: "YOUR brothers that are hating YOU, that are excluding YOU by reason of my name, said, ‘May Jehovah be glorified!’ He must also appear with rejoicing on YOUR part, and they are the ones that will be put to shame." 6 There is a sound of uproar out of the city, a sound out of the temple! It is the sound of Jehovah repaying what is deserved to his enemies. (keep reading this chapter)

that are excluding YOU by reason of my name ---- [Name of person] is no longer a Jehovah's Witness.

Romans 9:26-28

26 and in the place where it was said to them, ‘YOU are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’" 27 Moreover, Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: "Although the number of the sons of Israel may be as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant that will be saved. 28 　For Jehovah will make an accounting on the earth, concluding it and cutting it short."

‘YOU are not my people,’ ----- [Name of person] is no longer a Jehovah's Witness.

Revelation 11:13

13 And in that hour a great earthquake occurred, and a tenth of the city fell; and seven thousand names of men were killed by the earthquake, and the rest became frightened and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Ezekiel 43:7-9

As I mentioned above, such message would have greatly heartened the captive Jews in Babylon until they were repatriated to Judah to re-build the Temple.

Then why did God allow the Romans to ruin that same re-built temple, the city and destroy the people of that kingdom if it was a kingdom that would never be brought to ruin?

Biblical Prohecies That Came True?

recently there have been several claims made regarding prophecies that came true.

i've not personally seen a prophecy that i would consider as having come true.

i would consider the following as the requirements to say something is a prophecy and evaluate whether or not it came true:.

"Cut off with nothing for himself" doesn't imply "dead". It was all part of a plan whereby he would be King of Reality. The "prophecy" doesn't say what would happen, how it would happen, who it would happen to or the results. It's so vague it could mean a bartender cut him off. It literally isn't capable of being fulfilled in detail because there ARE NO DETAILS, except what the reader pushes back into the text.

Good argument!

I am convinced the 70 weeks "cut off with nothing for himself" has nothing to do with his crucifixion.

It has everything do do with this:

Daniel 8:11-12

　And all the way to the Prince of the army it put on great airs, and from him the constant [feature] was taken away, and the established place of his sanctuary was thrown down. 12 　And an army itself was gradually given over, together with the constant [feature], because of transgression; and it kept throwing truth to the earth, and it acted and had success.

Hebrews 10:19-21

　Therefore, brothers, since we have boldness for the way of entry into the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20 　which he inaugurated (established) for us as a new and living way through the curtain, that is, his flesh, 21 　and since we have a great priest over the house of God,

the established place of his sanctuary (aka Christianity) was thrown down.

Christianity is completely undermined and thrown down to the point where the Messiah is "cut off with nothing for himself".

It's so vague it could mean a bartender cut him off. It literally isn't capable of being fulfilled in detail because there ARE NO DETAILS, except what the reader pushes back into the text.

Which is why Jesus Christ said that Daniel must be read with discernment.

Daniel further supports my conviction in Chapter 2:

Daniel 2:44

　"And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite;

So far every kingdom that God set up has been brought to ruin.

What kingdom did God last set up?

answer: Christianity.

Christianity is ruined!

The next and last kingdom will not be:

Revelation 21:25-27

　And its gates will not be closed at all by day, for night will not exist there. 26 　And they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. 27 　But anything not sacred and anyone that carries on a disgusting thing and a lie will in no way enter into it; only those written in the Lamb’s scroll of life [will].

The harvest is a conclusion of a system of things, and the reapers are angels. 40　Therefore, just as the weeds are collected and burned with fire, so it will be in the conclusion of the system of things.
