As Adam mentioned, no JW will accept these verses as applying to the Watchtower Society, regardless of how well the shoe fits to an objective observer

The rest of the Apostles seemed to understand what was happening to the "Holy Place" also:

The Apostle Paul explained it best.

I went through some serious anxiety during my own exodus from the JWs. Uncovering the blatant lies of the organization enabled me to immediately discount the Watchtower Society as being "true religion".

After learning about many of the lies myself I came to an alternate conclusion.

The Watchtower is the religion the bible tells us about!

Thessalonians 2:9-12

But the lawless one’s presence is according to the operation of Satan with every powerful work and lying signs and portents 10 and with every unrighteous deception for those who are perishing, as a retribution because they did not accept the love of the truth that they might be saved. 11 So that is why God lets an operation of error go to them, that they may get to believing the lie, 12 in order that they all may be judged because they did not believe the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness.

"overwhelming evidence" that contradictory apocalyptic ramblings in a 2000 year old book is actually worth planning your life around.

I think you have hijacked the word evidence.

The overwhelming evidence has driven any thought of skepticism beyond reasonable limits.

What Jesus Christ said would happen is really happening!

What has been hijacked is my faith.

My "faith" is becoming redundant!

I have been thinking about this myself very recently.

For instance I used to have "faith" that Armageddon would happen based only on the evidence of words that I had "faith" in which are written in the bible.

Now that I know that Armageddon has already started many years ago I no longer have any "faith" that it will happen.

I now know that the things Jesus Christ said would happen are really happening!

The evidence is no longer restricted to written words.

"Faith" is something that is becoming no longer necessary!

i sat through the wt study that dealt with all the new understanding.. the conductor started by by saying .

well we wont spend too much time on what we used to believe, we will consider what we believe now.. i took a look round to see how the members of the congregation were reacting to this.. nothing.... .

Luke's parallel account mentions 'Jerusalem being surrounded by encamped armies' (Lk 21:20; "a holy place," Mt 24:15; "where it ought not," Mr 13:14)

Dan 9:26 refers to "the city and the holy place" that are to be 'brought to ruin.' And Jesus foretold the destruction of both the temple and the city. The Society usually mentions Gallus' troops getting as far as the temple wall before retreating, but Luke's rendering seems to negate any need for such detail.

Here are the details:

1: Look over the wall of Jerusalem.

2: Is Jerusalem surrounded by Roman Armies?

3: Yes/No

Let the reader use discernment.

Yes, but if what you are really asking is when will the war of the great day of God the Almighty going to start and find the answer then you still have no advantage.

What is really important is to know is that you are not in the PLACE called Armageddon when it does start.

Are you in that PLACE?
