Let the "Tithing" begin!

last night during the service meeting a letter was read indicating that more money was needed by jehovah's witnesses in order to expand the world-wide work .

it was suggested that each publisher take a piece of paper and write down the amount of money they would be willing to give and hand it to the elders.

it seems to be a cleverway to gather "seed money" by the organization while not calling it a "tithe.

I just pulled out the song books and WOW!! That is petty clear cut. I had to show my husband, who was pretty shocked as well.

To Ex-JWs: Do You Regret Learning it Was a Lie?

to the ex-jw community here,.

do any of you regret learning that wt is not god's organization?

I'm still pretty new to the fade and it's extremely hard right now. Relationships are changing with our family members. Even though they understand we can't get past the molestation of our child their grandchild and the way we were treated they still want us to go back.

It's a whole lot to handle...

Hopefully, when this question comes up next year I'll be past the hurt and just be thankful my eyes were opened.

Did Jarka get disfellowshipped yet?

i don't know why this crossed my mind today.

but, i'm rather curious if a convicted murderer, jarka in this case, got df-d. i mean if murder isn't a disfellowshipping offense, i don't know what is.

a few weeks ago i related this case to my brother, who is an elder.

I'm so sorry crazyblonde. No child should ever have to deal with being abused, especially by someone they trust. I hope you are doing well now.

At least we know our child's molester is locked up for most likely the rest of his life and that should make it okay that he wasn't disfellowshipped, but It just doesn't:(

I'm certainly going to work on #4 more this year. It's time to let go of the anger and become the mother my kids had a few years ago.

Maybe # 1 as well. It's time to make some new friends and stop worrying about those I lost.

Did You Exit the Witnesses Due to Injustices / Difference with Doctrine-Both?

many of us leave due to injustices committed inside the organization.

i did initially.

i had doubts about some doctrines for years - but not until after leaving the witnesses was i free to be able to confirm my suspicions and see that yes, i did have valid reasons to have doubts all those years .

Completely for unjust treatment after our child was molested.

I had to think, if they are so wrong when it comes to this big thing what else are they wrong about? Well, I sure found out after over a year on these forums!!

My child's molester was not disfellowshipped even after being convicted of molesting multiple victims.

I have to agree with you completely.

I'm so sorry your family has had to deal with the loss of your child's innocence and then the nightmare of dealing with the unjust way the WTS treats the victims and their families...I know. I'm going thought the same crap! The religious aspect makes it so much worse in my opinion. Why? because we were foolish enough to believe those people loved us:( You are kicked... while you are down and the pain is so overwhelming that to wishing death on the person who has done this to your family seems like nothing.

We all love differently, we all hate differently and we all deal with heartbreak differently.

It's all about respecting that difference, and having the empathy to put yourself in their shoes and even then realize, it's not the same.
