Elders are going to the CO on me

i celebrated halloween and my birthday and the elders have been told.

husband told the elders i've called the religion a cult.

they said i'm "heading down a road to be an apostate.

I'm really sorry your going through all this, especially the fact that it was your husband who turned you in.

By what you shared so far seems they have no idea what to do with such a strong woman...lol.

Trust me, they are trying to figure out how to put you in your place and yes they will use anything and anyone to do it.

My advice would be not to meet with them...refuse any communication and just let them do what they're going to do. The only control they have is what you give them.

Got ratted out for celebrating Halloween...

one of two things will happen.

i'll get disfellowshipped and never have to worry about being "told on" again for living a normal life, or; they won't do anything.. either way, it's freeing and i feel relieved... it will be sad if i get disfellowshipped but i've come to terms and made peace with it as much as can be expected.

it's a huge weight to have off.. was told on a week ago and haven't heard anything.

Just live your life, your kids are what matter. The sooner they get to live a normal childhood the better.

We didnt leave until mine were I their early teens and while they are enjoying their new lives the JW childhood has negatively effected them each in their own ways.

Child sex abuse cases mentioned at weekly meeting?

okay, tonight someone told me that one of the elders actually addressed the child sex abuse cases at the weeknight meeting this past week.

she said the speaker said that accusations are being made against the truth but that they should stand firm in the truth and that they are going to continue fighting these allegations and that all should stand firm for jehovah or some similar comments.... did anyone else hear this from the stage?.

I personally think this pay by credit or debt card is only hurting them. Think about it, JW's do everything to impress others. I remember a few waving around their checks as the walked slowly toward the donation box, hoping everyone would notice. I'm going to guess if no one is watching them they would choose to use their hard earned money in other ways.

I think it's also a very healing process for the survivors. They get to say what they have been through and how it has effected them and actually be heard.

For many, their voice has been ignored, their pain has been seen as weakness. I'm so happy to see them stand up for themselves!

i was talking to an uber dub friend last night who lives in the san diego area.

he knew nothing of the $13.5 million dollar law suit.

when i tried to tell him that this is a systemic problem, and that this could perhaps be the tip of the ice burgh.

With knowledge comes responsibility...instead of banding together to demand change in policies from their leaders! They stick their head in the sand. These are their children being victimized and yet they do nothing!

Real change only happens when people stand up for what's right. Sadly it seems only lawyers and victims are willing to do this for all their JW's children. They should be thanking them for doing something they are too afraid to do.

Great podcast!! It's always shocking to hear how knowledgable these lawyers prosecuting theses cases are about JW's. It's like they have been in the religion themselves, sorry, Zelkin.

This firm really is doing a great job exposing the corrupt policies of the WTS.

BTTT / Marked topics

i've noticed a lot of topics being bumped recently with "bttt" (back to the top) comments or "marked" as the reply.. i'd appreciate if people think twice before doing this.

simply forcing topics back to the top even though there is nothing to say on them is not helpful and negates the usefulness of having an active topics view.

if everyone did this with every topic they want to push then things would quickly deteriorate so i don't believe some should be allowed to do it for whatever reason.. by all means post new and relevent comments to a topic but short esp single-word non-comments that are simply used to push certain topics back to the top are likely to be interpreted as spam and removed or blocked if necessary.. .

my first reaction to this little tract is that it is the same thing we left at the doors in the 1970s during blitz campaigns just before armageddon in 1975. yes, we were told that the end of false religion was extremely close, and that we were stepping up our preaching activity which we expected to bring on a major round of persecution.

we were engaged in the final notification work of condemning false religion so that the few remaining sheep might get out of babylon the great just before the great tribulation was to start.. fast forward over 30 years: the jws are still blitzing the neighborhood with kingdom news tracts saying that the end of false religion is near.

what a sad and cruel joke!
