What a touching photo.
I personally know that horrible feeling while waiting to hear the jury's verdict.
I'm so happy for Von Webb family, I hope this is the beginning to a very happy future for them all.
andrea montgomery was found guilty as charged on each of the 6 charges of child rape of her biological son, alan von webb, the oldest boy of four children.
today, many media people were there in the courtroom for the first time since the trial started.. the verdict came in about 3:30 p.m. which took time for the judge to read, etc., so i learned about it at 4 p.m. when the father of the four children, now young adults, called us.
one of the children has down's syndrome, and it's difficult to imagine, but he also was raped since a child by his mother.

Those young adults are very brave, I'm sure it was very difficult to have to talk about everything in detail. I hope she gets a very long sentence.
Thank you for the update Barbara.

I'm glad she was convicted! I'm kinda surprised the names
of the victims were mentioned in the article, I thought they were protected?
Wow!! That was some great coverage! I loved how they confronted Kendrick with his wife looking like she just got home from service. I can't believe she said " he did his time for that crime" referring to the fact he molested her granddaughter! What a weak sad women defending her piece of garbage husband!
Candace did such an amazing job with this report, she truly is making a huge impact with getting this out to the media. Thank you Candace you are paving the way for hopefully many more survivors to do the same.
i was at a criminal trial all day in murfreesboro, tn, involving the notorious jw who i call "mommy molester," angela montgomery.
this is the reason i didn't know until this evening that the nightline program with the segment on jws was changed until tomorrow night.
(i forgot my phone.
What at a piece of crap this Kendrick creep is!! So, if you're to believe him, he molested before Candace and then after her....but never her?? Yeah right! Then he goes on to brag that he's a member in good standing.
"Kendrick was absent from Conti’s trial and denied “Nightline’s” repeated requests for an interview. In a brief interview with “Nightline” outside of his home in California, Kendrick said, “My statement is this. I've never been alone with Ms. Conti, never molested Candace Conti.”
He denied he ever did field service with Conti alone, and repeatedly denied molesting her or ever being alone with her.
“I'm sure that's the smart thing for him to say,” Conti told “Nightline.” “That hurts like hell. But ... do you expect honesty from a child molester?”
Conti is moving on with her life. She graduated from college and recently got engaged. But she said she will continue fighting on behalf of all victims of child abuse.
“I don’t have a monopoly on pain,” she said. “Instead of being victims we can change it, and have our words speak for change. Then this pain might be a little bit worth it.”
Since Conti’s verdict in 2012, the church appears to have made some changes on its confidentiality policy when it comes to child abuse, but critics, including Conti, say it’s not enough.
As for Jonathan Kendrick, he says he is still a member in good standing of the Jehovah’s Witnesses."
important news:.
here in the united states, on wednesday morning, march 11th at 12:35 a.m., est, barring any breaking news the day before, the program, nightline, will air as their lead story a 9-minute segment about the watchtower (jehovah's witnesses).
the program is 30 minutes long and this segment is only one part of the show.
Thank you Barbara,
I will set my DVR to record.
when it comes to a simple matter of no longer believing the teachings of jw's, it appears to me that it's more common for the husband to make the first move to leave the religion.
considering the fact that the wt society refuses to release in courts any of it's written directions to elders through confidential letters to elder bodies- i thought i'd do the courts and wt society a "favor " by posting excerpts from this oct 1st.
2012 letter from the wt society to all bodies of elders.
these instructions are very exposing of the negligence of wt authorities in how they view the seriousness of felony child abuse.
It really upsets me that no matter how much pressure they are under regarding the child molestation issue they refuse to change their dangerous policies and procedures . They truly are digging their own graves!
As far as active JW's, they will either 1. Deny, deny, deny. Calling victims liars, media biased and courts wrong. 2. Dig their head in the sand refusing to even watch anything negative at all. 3. Or Like some of my family members, they know the policies need to change and are upset by what they are hearing but will just "wait for Jehovah" to clear things up.
for those who have left and are still in contact with jw family, how do you usually respond when they bring up jw stuff, i.e.
start talking about the nearness of armageddon or things like that.. i usually say nothing and just let it pass but i'm considering changing tact to something more confrontational, less because i want to change their mind and more because i find it tiresome.
thoughts?
Yup, depends on what relative I'm talking to. With certain ones we cannot talk anything JW or it will not end peacefully, with others I can bring up some of the issues without any of us getting offended.
One thing I've learned in the past few years is nothing I show them or prove to them will change the way they feel about being a JW, they may agree how some things have to change but in the end they are happy in their ignorance. It's the only way of life they know or want to know.

married woman, 36, who had sex with 15-year-old schoolboy breaks down in tears as she is told she faces jail .
married mother of two broke down in tears at merthyr tydfil crown court.
So elders sat in the back of the courtroom and offered support to the offender huh?? Big surprise!!!
Too bad the victims get no support at all....especially in a courtroom! Makes me sick!
