I'm shocked that some here are defending the actions of the officer when even the chief called his actions indefensible.
I guess people see what they want to see.
so today i was asked my thoughts on the pool party incident in mcminney, texas.
my response: it shows a clash of expectations.
i saw police officers who expected citizens to listen to and follow instructions.

if you had to pinpoint the time or experience that finally made you open your eyes, what would it be?.
i think for me it was the time i saw my dad shun his brother who he had not seen in decades just because he was a da'ed jw.
i thought to my self "no way jesus would do that.
Finding out our daughter was molested by someone we trusted in our congregation.
I think everything that went on after that proved to us that this religion not only lie...they are also dangerous! They claim they're a loving brotherhood, when in actuality they are self serving robots for their leaders.

There is always more to the story, however when you are the professional with training and a gun you are held to higher standard then a bunch on wild unarmed teenagers. It doesn't matter what race they are, they are teenagers. Teenagers do stupid things( I know I did)
He was over the top, he knows it...his boss knows it, and it looked like his fellow officers knew it. He hopefully will learn from this.

Did Johnathan Kedrick sexually batter Candace Conti ? YES.
even if you don't regard yourself as a practicing jw, some may view you simply as inactive, a lost sheep, etc.. if you were baptized but not disfellowshipped or disassociated, you may still be a jw---right?
your thoughts please..
As far as I know my husband and I are still technically JW's, but who knows they didn't inform us when they eventually disfellowshipped our daughters molester so maybe we are and don't know :)
It doesn't really matter at this point, the only contact we have with witnesses is when we visit with our families.
for those of you who left family and friends and had to start over from scratch just to get out of the organization, was it worth it?.

Well said iwasblind!!
Victims of abuse need love and support, not interrogations and isolation.
i met with a good family friend of mine who is a jw but will still hang out with me...apparently after this last time trying to encourage me.
lol.
but i shared a fraction of how i feel about the organization not to disrespect his beliefs, he just went off on the usual well it's an organization run by imperfect men and you can let the people affect you and need to remember it's the right religion and we need to put all that aside.
