Newly Exiting JW's ( Last 5 years ) How are you Doing in Life? Let Us Know
by flipper inconsidering the fact we've had so many newbies here i thought it would be good to just open it up to you folks to see how life is going for you since you exited the witnesses ?
it's hard many times to move on- however with lots of ex-witnesses on the board here who have been through similar experiences - perhaps those of us who have been out awhile can give you someideas on how to move on in your post jw life to make it a little easier .
so fire away newbies and recently exited jw 's.

Good days and bad days. Hardest part is losing my very close relationship with my mother. She has less and less to say to me these days and it breaks my heart, but I don't control her and I wont let her control me.
My kids are now in sports and are making new friends, they have been to pizza parties and the movies with "worldly" friends and have came home safe and sound. They seem extremely happy to be normal teenagers.
It's a little harder for my husband and myself we tend to make friends slowly and we really pretty much stick to each other and the kids. We have one neighbor that invites us over to swim and BBQ so we are taking baby steps.
We completely forgot the DC which was a biggie, last year we gave in and went one day. This year didn't give it a thought.
Starting over in your early 40's is interesting, I look forward to what's to come...

The Jehovahs Witness family weekend
by jambon1 inhaving been out of the organisation for over 4 years and having finally released my kids from the hellish existance that is life as a jw, it struck me today how enjoyable our weekends are in comparison to when we were jw's.. the weekends are vital for us just now.
my wife doesn't work but i work full time from very early in the morning.
i don't get to see my beutiful children in the morning during the week.

Sorry chick, but if you did drugs in the world, you most likely would have did drugs in the Org.
See I'm the opposite of that. I was a teenager world and seen all kinds of bad things happen, although never to me or anyone I loved. I came back into the Org as a young adult got married and raised perfect little JW kids and made sure they lived the Org way knowing this would protect them from any harm..right?
Wrong! My daughter was molested by that wonderful loving family man in the congregation. I bet they wouldn't use that in a DC drama!

The first story is the recent on where he is trying to be allowed to go to the KH even though it's a condition of his release to not be around children. The other articles are from 2008 when he was released from prison I believe.

I'm enjoying it so much as well
The kids are thrilled to be having fun on weekends, they had soccer games this morning and are heading to a pizza party with the team for dinner. Before, we would have spent the morning out on service or feeling guilty for not being out..followed by studying for the watchtower study and early to bed for meeting in the am. Tomorrow we sleep in and then head out to celebrate Fathers Day!! Life is good.
