Thanks for those websites Mythbusters..I printed out the texting codes ect..to keep up with what my teens are up to.
My husband and I are pretty outspoken with our children, especially after my daughter was molested, but we still as parents need to be kept aware of the new tricks these creeps use.
It just makes me sick to see how widespread and outspoken these creeps are!!

My kid gets it
by mamalove inso last night my 6 year old tells me that her dad said to her while tucking her in at night "mama is going to die because she caused the divorce, and grandpa wanted mommy to divorce me all the days of his life.".
(my dad left the lie when i was 5, and i left a year ago... and subsequently am almost through with the divorce and the ex is a bitter, ignorant, crazy tempered jw).
so its all our fault, and i am going to die, makes sense.. last night i called up the ex and told him that he was nothing short of a mental pedophile, that you don't tell your daughter her mother is as good as dead, and he needs to knock it off and he is in violation of our anti-disparagement agreement that the courts have insisted on due to the religious and personal strife between us.

Sorry your going through that.
But very glad your daughter gets it.

Avoiding the Meeting
by brotherdan inso, darth plaugeis (or however you spell it) has suggested that the best way to get out of going to the meeting is to tell your wife that it's time to get ready for the meeting, and when her back is turned hit her over the head with a large object.. i'm sure there are better ways to get out of going.
i'm looking for some real ideas here.
" i like the whole getting your wife (or husband) drunk before the meeting so they won't want to go idea.

Well for me it was very real..I would get horrible anxiety just thinking of going to meetings (dry heaves) coughing hard all the way to the meeting and even during. I think it was a bit embarrassing to say the least. This was while we still attempting to attend...after quite a few times of this, my husband said we can't keep doing this it was making him nervous the kids nervous and I couldn't control it without medicating myself which I wasn't going to do..so we decided to start listening in on the phone line, then that got less and less
I'm
m sure it would be an easy thing to fake...and I'm also sure your wife would start telling you to stay home after being embarrassed a few times.

Hi Diana,
To be fair to the posters..this is what we had to work on.
Page1
"Thanks for being so open minded....you all make a point. It's just that I was considering
an "arrangement." I'd get some financial help with my schooling, etc. (I work full time and have a
part time job so I'm no gold digga). He'd get what he wants. I keep going back and forth on this one.
Just wanted your feedback. I haven't made my mind up. (Not until I see his yacht anyway. :)"
Nothing there about losing your house and helping your sibling. Maybe those who you thought were a bit harsh would have toned down how they felt if they had the whole story Just saying...

Not something I would do...Mainly because it's just not something I would want done to me.
But for those who don't feel as I do...
Dang do you watch the news?? With all the friggin crazy people out there... his wife could be one of them!! I'm sorry but no money is worth having some scorned woman after you.
I know if it was my husband I would spend every second making sure his life and the mistresses life was a livin' hell! Yes, I have a little crazy in me

need to get over it but cant :(
by bez ini text my little girls friends mum today as her daughter left some clothes (funnily enough, they were army pants and a t shirt, what ever happened to not supporting the army by not wearing calmoflage print etc!!!)..
i told her i would put them in a bag and told her she could call in for them whenever she was passing... anyway i just had my reply, hi, just keep them, *** will be out of them by next year anyway, so *** may as well just have them.
hope your all ok...x. so i take it thats her in basic words sayin... keep them cus i dont want to see you again and your apostate influence... i knew people would take this approach to our decision to not continue going to the meetings but i just am really struggling to deal with it without feeling like i have a disease that they do not want to catch :(.

I'm not going to lie, it's hard to lose all you friends and watch your kids struggle losing their's but it does get better. Get them involved in sports and school activities you'll make new friends and so will they.
Just give it some time and try not to let it break you..that's what they want. They want to see you broken and sad.
I'm now getting calls from some of the same ones that stepped away when we stopped going to meetings because they are now inactive and facing the same thing.

High School Homecoming and MUMS?
by yknot inas most of you know........ i am from texas originally.. each year as homecoming rolls around schools across that state become 'frenzied' with various 'school spirit' activities ending with the wearing of mums (garters for boys) to school on friday.. i recently was talking to a 'yankee' boy and he didn't know what i was talking about (mums/garters or homecoming)......(blasphemy!)..
anywho it got me thinking...... is mums/ garters limited to texas/oklahoma?
(surely our southern cousins too have them -- right?).

All the accusations- and no substance....how SHOCKING!
by theMadJW inare there pretenders in our brotherhood- as in all religion- that do what is evil?.
yes.. have we made stupid guesses about some of the prophecies, as all churches do?.
yes.. does our "organization" make mistakes- as, you guessed it, all do?.

I'm all for people worshipping however they see fit for there families. However when people are harmed because of how they worship is where I have a huge problem!
I have thought about going back, only because it would be the easy thing, it's what I know. Of course it never got past the thought, why?
I have personal experience of how this religion harms individuals I know if they treated our family the way they did after we came forward about our child being molested, how many others have and will be mistreated in the same way? How many lives will be damaged forever due to their shunning, blood issue..etc.
This religion harms people and I know this for a fact, so how could I think God is with them? I can't.
The God I know is a God of love& Justice I hardly think he would want us surrounded by those who are anything but, IMO.
