  madjw thinks the wts' policy is sufficient to deal wtih cases of sexual abuse of children.

  Wrong way is dead wrong!

  Elders investigate it just as strongly as the police, only without the experience! They further damage victims and could damage their case against the abuser by telling the abuser every detail of the allegation against him. That's a Dream for a defense attorney to know way in advance how to go at the little victims in court.

  Victims should not even waste their time going to the elders IMO they should go to the police and make a report once the district attorney decides to take it to trial it's a open record. Time for the family to warn everyone in the congregation and neighboring KH's because the creep most likely has moved on to another hall while he awaits trial. When the DA clears it then go to the elders, they most likely will already know but only give then the simple facts and never allow them to question your child..that should be left to the trained professionals.

  Mad JW,

  Your right her having to sit there and face her abuser and a jerk of a defense attorney was hellfire..but the result was seeing her molester handcuffed and lead away Knowing she helped in making sure he wasn't going to harm another child.

  What she went through with the elders was also hellfire..but the results were waiting and waiting almost 4 years before he was even d'fd and for what? I'm not sure we heard it through the grapevine and verified it recently.

  Imagine being a parent and telling your child if you just tell the elders the truth you will help make sure he never hurts any of you friends in the KH and nothing happening. Imagine running to the phone knowing this is the day they are going to tell you he was being disfellowshipped and it never coming.

  We went through a trial and we all know how long of a process that is and still heard nothing. I mean it's not like he hadn't molested other children, he was on reproof for admitting to molesting 2 others when my child spoke up..that's 3 witnesses alone.

  Look, I know your an honest person. You feel what you feel. Only question is... could you be wrong?

  My child was molested after this policy change...

  We were still made to feel as we did something wrong by calling the autorities before the elders. Not verbally, but how we were treated.

  We heard the phrase "reproach on Jehovah's name" over and over agian along with "this is bad". We really felt almost guilty after the elders left our home.. well, really confused.. My child was questioned horriably for almost 2 hours and not one of those elders told us we could have just given them the story Dont they relize the damage they can do?? Do they care?

  It was a night I will never forget. They actually told us the molester had the just as much right as his victim to me in the KH?? How was that protecting the victim from further abuse as the NEW policy states? Of course we didn't allow her in the same room with the creep ever again until she had to face him in court.

  No Love..

  No support..

  No compassion..

  So unlike Christ Jesus.

  I pray for those going through it right now, because I know they're out there.

  crying at my grandma's house

  i don't know why i'm telling you all this, but i broke down in tears today.. .

  i went to my grandma and grandpa's today just to visit.. most of my early memories are being with my grandma out in service while my mom was off to work.. .

  JW Ministerial Servant sentence to 14 years for child porn

  my wife grew up with this family in her congregation so she was very familiar with them all.

  the person in the story that was sentenced was born into the "truth" and was a ministerial servant at the time of his arrest.

  his mother was a regular pioneer, father an elder and sister also a pioneer.

  Thank you Lady Lee. This needs to be heard over and over until every JW knows what I and many others didn't. That the ones you think the most highly of, could actually be the ones to tear you life apart by taking advantage of your trust!

  It's never the single brother sitting in the back by himself calling over young kids to sit on his lap. Instead it could be that family man brother who greats you at the door of the KH with a bear hug and a welcoming smile. The one who comments beautifully as his family looks at him with such pride. I would have never guessed my child would be molested by a man that loved his family so much(outwardly) someone who had a daughter the same age as out 9 year old little girl..never.

  Do you consider yourself to be quiet or outgoing?

  something someone said on one of the popularity topics got me to wondering who on the board is quiet and who are the outgoing ones in real life.

  i'm a quiet person in real life, takes me a while to warm up to folks that i just meet, but if i really like a person my rarely used gift of gab comes out.. how about ya'll?.

  It depends on my mood. Usually, if I force myself to actually go out into the crowd I'm one of the loudest ones having a great time.. but I'm happiest just kicking it at home with the husband and kids.
