Circuit ASSembly low-lites

so in an effort to relieve some pressure here are what i term the low-lites of yesterday's assembly that i had to endure for the sake of family still in and my progressing fade.

apologies in advance for being pretty long winded.. these may not all be the actual words used, but the ones i use are close, and they pretty well say what was said from the platform.. right off the bat in the opening prayer the praises of the governing body were spoken.

fading/holidays

so for those that are fading, i have been fading for almost 6 months now.

havent been to a meeting, assembly, service, etc.

i no longer believe it is the truth.. how long did you wait before celebrating holidays, if in fact you are even celebrating them.

Put a pumpkin on your porch at Hallowe'en

Stuck

i feel so stuck.

i am married to a wonderful man.

i have been married for almost a decade and adore my husband.

Oh it's so not easy - this waking up when you love your spouse dearly but they are devout.

Don't rush, don't blurt out things that can come back and be used against you by those your husband in all sincerity seeks help from.

Rather than attack "God" - how about inconsistencies in the literature that has made it impossible for you to trust "imperfect men" anymore.

Go on jwfacts to find some real beauties.

The "overlapping generation" is dealt with using the WT literature and scripture to great effect. ONLY USE WT literature and the Bible - no reference to "apostate websites" or the "apostate sources card" will trump the truth you tell and close you down.

Another:

Remember at the convention that hate filled video where the scandinavian young woman is forced back to Jehovah by her deluded parents whose father scowls at her contemptuously across the KH when she is df'd and ignored when she phones her mother?

Now look up on jaydubya dotorg under FAQ's about "do JW's shun?" and see how it is portrayed there and ask your husband to explain why one thing is portrayed on the website and another at the convention?

Stick to WT literature, take your time, cross your fingers and hope for the best.

Oh and seek advice here! There are some crazies but most of us understand completely and want to help.

WT “Study” for 11th Sept 2016 – “Why Must We ‘Keep on the Watch’”?

i was really puzzled when i opened this edition of the wt magazine at the above “study”.

what on earth has this picture at the top of page 13 got to do with christian watchfulness?

i wasn’t making a connection at all.

Yes it would be a good satirical "innocent" comment to make but trust me this old girl wasn't being satirical; her mother got baptised in the mid-1940's and she (the daughter) would have been at meetings from then on, getting baptised herself about 1950.

She has (as an adult) seen the unfolding of 1975, the generation, the non generation, the overlapping generation too. Where else can she go at her age?

Handels 'Messiah'

i had been watching handels "messiah' on computer.

i mentioned this to my wife (uber) and got a "oh oh!

" reply so it looks like this most wonderful work of choral music is proscribed.

I had similar with "All things bright and beautiful" a hymn that was a favourite with small children in English schools. Hymn of Christendom? Big No-no.

However I reasoned that "If God chose His Organization in 1919 (I know ... I know ...) then stuff written prior must be OK especially if there is nothing unscriptural about the words."

Now no-one started singing non-jw hymns around me but it does put another perspective on the Hallelujah chorus doesn't it?

the watchtower published anthony morris iii's autobiography last year ... "remembering my first love has helped me to endure" by anthony morris iii.

i absolutely cannot believe how quickly he became a jehovah's witness.

in the span of less than a year, he attended his first meeting, studied, got baptized, became a pioneer, and married a jw girl.

And that is what it's all about isn't it? Looking good on the outside.

I dunno "dropoffyourkeylee" that does look like a dried up baptism pool and if you go down far enough in the linked site there is a jw.org symbol and the look of a Japanese jw discussion type website.

I'll take it at face value but with a helping of Berean investigation needed to confirm.

Melita Jaracz

have moved on from all things jw from my former life it seems.. just an announcement to whomever it may concern that melita jaracz, surviving wife of form governing body member theodore jaracz, has finished her earthy course passing away yesterday.. simon, i don't know if you're still involved, but this site was invaluable to me when i was leaving the org.

some years back.. thank you and all the others who have me guidance that i needed at the time.

The 1914 doctrine: How long it will last?

one hundred years have passed and the society still supports this lie, which of course, is the basis of their other lies, like that of the unfaithful and not discreet slave appointed in 1919. however, i wonder, what will happen after 50 years, when the overlapped generation will pass?.

and if you want, what will happen with this religion in 2100?, could it survive with the same lie??

Look. There are idiots with an agenda who have followers believing that the Holocaust didn't happen; if the GB told the JW's that WW1 didn't really happen and to ignore any evidence for it because Satan changed the words in the newspapers and the images on the cine films some of them would believe it and even more would go along with it.

Their brains would fry as they "waited on Jehovah" and they continued to trust "imperfect men", but they'd accept it and bob their heads and answer up in the Watchtower study.

Just like they will bob their heads (including those that preached it and who lived through it) and answer up when they study the overlapping generation change bollocks in the "(Obey) God's Kingdom Rules!" book later this month at the CLAM meeting.
