  Performance Impact due to Google Indexing

  just a heads up in case the site seems slow - you're requests are competing with googlebot because it's being indexed and it's really going at it ... a minute ago there were 40+ instances fired up there were so many requests coming it.

  i guess the data doesn't have far to travel so it can hit things hard.

  i did have a throttle in place but took it off because i wanted to speed things up a bit ... well, it worked!.

  Will they change the Yearbook format?

  pure speculation here but i'm wondering if - with the numbers flat-lining - that the gb will stop giving country by country stats, or perhaps at least some of the statistics.. we used to get a monthly stat in the km - then that was "simplified" to "highlights".

  only the "good" stuff.

  then with the new clam workbook, no stats at all.. i wonder if the yearbook will soon only contain "positive" spun stats.

  I wonder if the yearbook will soon only contain "positive" spun stats. After all if pioneers are really dropping and baptisms are down and congregations are down and memorial attendance is down and partakers are up and growth has become negative that would let those pesky meddling apostates frame mischief against the borg.

  How would it be spun so as to not give ammunition to opposers to "persecute" bunker hiding JW's with?

  I guess that as this is close to the border with Mexico that there is a high proportion of Spanish speaking brothers and sisters. If so then the baptisms are even lower than you might expect?

  i was a very, very true believer until i saw the child molesters in my hall and how that whole thing was handled.. my husband is older than i am and had been an elder for 12 when we married.

  so fast forward to 06, we are in a hall where i thought all the elders were ok at the worst and great at the best.

  i showed the video from the midweek meeting of september 12th to my counselor to get her take on it.

  she said that it clearly was a propaganda video and was appalled that it was shown to an audience that had small children in it.

  she said that they could have been way more generic in their way of portraying the women as having been abused.. the subject of sexual abuse and the way the video zeroed in on it would have small children asking questions that really did not need to be addressed.

  Also - the man is a self obsessed lunatic. Stop engaging with him. DO NOT talk to him; DO NOT communicate with him in any way whatsoever.

  Keep the emails. When he persists and you get your lawyer to tell him to "______ off" they can be referred to by him in his correspondence.

  If you were my wife that elder would be lifted by his necktie against the wall and have it explained up close and personal to leave you alone.

  what do you think the jw religion will be like in oct 2021?

  if we go back five years from oct 2016 you get 2011. there was no jw.org, really pretty much no tablets, most people were using paper copies for everything.

  now that's all changed.

  They will only change when outside events force them to. Remember they have a two-thirds majority decision making process at GB level.

  These events might be:

  A. Falling revenue stream via lack of contributions/law suits.

  B. Falling membership which will feed into A.

  Wildcards - very unlikely indeed - might be a really disgruntled "cell" of ex-jw's who do a terrorist act on a GB member or on HQ, or a grab for power/legal ownership or a schism by a faction in HQ or a Branch in a foreign country.

  Good grief - so 7,000,000 plus die horrible deaths in waves of persecution from the "Devil's vicious assaults" and the vainglorious bastards aka Watchtower (sat on their fat derrieres in comfyland New York) say they were only "professed" Christians and not worthy of a heavenly reward.

  (Which obviously only comes if you falsely predict the end several times, own two cadillacs, run a radio station, print millions of crappy books and build a non interactive website while protecting pedophiles in your midst. )

  what's is the goal of this religion?.

  i mean, if it's for money they could do a lot more like other religions do: tithing, paying for prayers from the gb, selling "miracles", selling "blessed" items, selling courses.. if its for power then what are they hoping to do with that power?
