Hi Ruby ... I was being at least somewhat tongue in cheek, but thanks.
Question for OP.
When did you leave, Sherlock?
not to be overly harsh...but if you just left, what the hell were you thinking?
between 1995 and now, you never did an internet search of "jehovahs-witness" or "watchtower"?
good god.

about what organizational aspect are witnesses negative?.
(i can’t find anything).. always positive = irrational = indoctrination.

Not jumping high enough when they are told to jump.

I guess I was just kind of dumb. Thanks so much for reminding me ...
october 1, 2017 to all bodies of elders in nigeria re: local needs for the week of october 16-22.
Two more "concerns".
1. The branch address on the letter is different from the one currently shown on the jwborg website although it matches the printed address at the back of the 2016 yearbook, (could there be two locations like Patterson and Wallkill etc?) although the phone number is correct if phoning internally.
2. The bible verses quoted are 1984 NWT not 2013 RNWT. As an English speaking country (official language) why are they not using 2013 RNWT?

1. I trust Wifi. He will know if this has come to him from someone HE can trust.
2. I wonder if this is "branch written" because unlike "the west" there is not such a high take up of digital banking in Nigeria and so the WT gives different instructions for that area for the local needs item?
3. The reference to what the Branch office in Peru (but similar demographic financially?) says seems strange.
4. Strange too, it doesn't include a "copy to" travelling overseers" at the base?
5. I believe "somewhere on this forum" there was a letter from a branch amending the local needs item for the same week, but different in content? Not sure about this.
Maybe Wifi may comment later but I will run with it for the present. I've certainly seen "best wishes" on other recent JW documents.
"because the preaching work must be winding down with another cut back of magazines!
" ok then why are they ramping up production of music videos, cartoons and movies?
deer in headlights look.facepalm-me.
The end was close in early WW2 when when Rutherford's "John and Eunice" decided to forestall having children to preach throughout the "remaining months" before Armageddon.
I guess "John" is dead and "Eunice" is in her 90's in a nursing home somewhere?
while visiting someone at the local hospital i saw this leaflet " will i need a blood transfusion ?
- patient information" .
now i was raised in the belief that doctors are transfusion-happy and just give you one willy nilly if they operate , further that a trans.
FMan: "... the direction coming from the FDS at this time on blood is what it is."
Err ... who tells us who the FDS are? (Faithful and Discreet Slave)
The GB of course.
And there's me thinking it was a parable attributed to Jesus and then hi-jacked by the leadership of JW's and their predecessors.
Silly me.

That is so shocking. NIGERIA FFS!!!
They are asking for money from Nigerians in the most shameless way possible while they themselves live in luxury in Warwick!
I could understand it (not agree with it) if they wrote to "the west" asking for regular contributions to help the brothers and sisters in Nigeria; not the other way around.
This religion is certainly a "snare and a racket!"
the purpose of this thread is to share some history with the community.
i am an active jw.
the reason i picked this forum is due to the openness and ease with which information can be accessed.
Confirmation Bias at its finest.
Charles Taze Russell fired an arrow into a fence and you have painted a target around it.
i have a bad feeling that the annual report in the form that we can analytically use, will no longer be available.
according the post agm letter, it said "this information will be published in the 'about us' section of jw.org" however when you go to that page, there are already a country by country listing of statistics.
the problem is that, the numbers displayed at the moment are not the whole story we used to get.
I suspect this too.
For the GB, the figures from all the branches will likely be in for the 2017 service year and will have been by the AGM. If they had made good reading then they would have highlighted some at the AGM.
I think in descending order we may no longer see actual figures of anything that makes AM3 not "look good."
