  Singing todays WT

  the jist was that we all should sing.

  then the first 6 or 8 paragraphs describe how early bible accounts have trained and set aside musicians to do the singing while everyone else listened.. the songs they have put out have no soul, rhythm, or soothing melodies as a whole.

  the old hymns are some real music, even if you don't agree with the "teachings".. there is no admission of poetry using archaic language at times for affect or to add to the rhyme, they have to have everything agree with the grey bible.. anyone speak foreign languages?

  Why? Because before, when a person sang the words of this song, he was telling others what to do. This could be awkward for new ones, interested ones, young ones, and sisters who are at our meetings, assemblies, and conventions. So the title and the lyrics were changed.

  Why? In the audience at our meetings, assemblies, and conventions are many new ones, interested ones, young ones, and sisters who by singing the words would be put in the awkward position of telling others what to do. So the title and the lyrics were modified.

  This subject seems to have been done to death so perhaps I can welcome captaingrl to the forum.

  I note your 60 plus posts in 5 days and you tell us you love Trump and think he will be remembered as a Churchill but perhaps you can contribute to the forum by giving us a little background and perhaps some advice on how "still in" and "ex-jw's" can cope with the Watchtower Society and all its trappings?

  Grandma's Guilty Conscience

  for the holidays my girlfriend and i had planned to travel home and enjoy some time in our home area and visit with all our families.

  she has several siblings and both our parents are divorced and living separately so it was a really busy time traveling around visiting each home.

  my girlfriend was never a jw, but as for me i have been df'd for about 7 years now.

  There was also a mid week meeting a couple of months ago replaying the DF scandinavian girl video from the 2016 Regional Assembly where dearest mommy doesn't even pick up the phone to her DF'd daughter and by so not doing is instrumental in bringing her back into the fold.
