  Informing of judicial decisions - how is it accomplished in 2018?

  how do jws (rank and file) know when to commence shunning the victim of an internal judicial proceeding ?

  what direction does the elders manual give to start the congregations participation in shunning?

  when did you most recently see this process initiated in a hall you attend?.

  Round my way more are dying off and more are being DF'd.

  In the last 2/3 years I can think of 6 over 70's who have snuffed it and 3 DF'd (all separate offences as in not two or three at once) in a cong that was about 75/80 publishers and is now about 70. A couple of separate reproofs announced too.

  The announcements were as per Morpheus's post.

  I have also heard and had verified that in a nearby circuit the last 3 years an HLC member got DF'd and a a circuit overseer publicly reproved just after he changed circuits.

  WT and child protection

  my friend has just returned from mid week meeting and emailed me to say 'this was released at meeting tonight' and sent me a 3 page document entitled 'jehovah's witness scripturally based position on child protection'.

  has anyone else had this.

  i'm in the uk.

  What does Two witness mean for child abuse?

  i am not a jw.

  my mother in law is.

  my husband is not a jw, but he did attend with her through his child years and teen years but stopped once he was 15. his mother never made him or his siblings attend if they did not want to.i am trying to understand this organization to understand my mother in law better.

  Your M-i-L if typical will WANT to believe "the organisation" (AKA the Governing Body) is God's channel and trying its best as imperfect men to do what is right.

  As each court case hits their dollars and TV documentary/news item hits their image and especially since the Australian Royal Commission case study 29 into JW's - the organisation has - dragging its heels and using its considerable legal and financial clout - fought a protracted rearguard action against doing anything it doesn't want to.

  IMAGE and MONEY is everything to these bozos who have entrapped the gullible and invested into believing their every false promise of "paradise soon" or somesuch for over 100 years.

  Only this week they have put up LOOK AT US AND HOW GOOD WE ARE child protection documents that I believe are only the result of hard work by abuse victims, ex jw's and the "worldly" and "satanic" courts of decent democracies. The problem is that by sleight of hand and oral communication they will do or not do exactly what they want to using their enforcing puppet elders in the congregations.

  They are not a quirky bunch on the edge of mainstream christianity, they are a manipulative money grabbing nest feathering bunch of stuffed fat charlatans.

  My JW Elder Brother Passed Away

  he was basically a good man, just a believer in the religion.

  when we were both elders we were best of friends and then things deteriorated when i was not an elder for a while.

  then after becoming an elder again, i slowly drifted away from the religion and he drifted further away from me.

  that's like saying back in 1930 the events of the civil war show we are in the last days!

  it has now been that long!.

  It all seemed to be coming to a head in the last third of the twentieth century didn't it?

  We had had WW1 and WW2. Nuclear bombs and nuclear missiles to put them on by the 1950's. Cuban Missile crisis in 1962.

  Run up to 1975 we had USSR Bloc and NATO squaring off, Kennedy assassination, Vietnam, (in the UK we had strikes, power cuts, short week working).

  Then after the 1975 debacle we still had "the generation" dream running at full steam to keep us on message. More Superpower tension, rise of China, Falklands war, Russians in Afghanistan - but suddenly in 1990 it all came to a shuddering halt - fall of the Iron Curtain - united and benign Germany.

  Early 1990's - Ooh! might this be the shout of peace and security? The generation are in their 80's and 90's now - gotta happen soon!

  Then our feet were cut from under us - Generation change! Run out of time!

  By 2000 it was all over bar the realisation.

  move forward as a spiritual person.. paragraph 2 "robert and his wife began passing time by quizzing each other on bible subjects.

  his wife, a spiritually strong person, had no problem answering the questions, but robert found himself constantly embarrassed, not knowing what to say.".

  there is no indication of how she fits the template of a spiritual person other than she can answer bible trivia.

  When I quote scripture like Acts 1 v 8, Luke 21 v 8, or Acts 17 v 11 most jw's either shut down, accuse me of setting up my own doctrines or run away metaphorically screaming "La-la-la I can't hear you!"

  But then I can't be spiritual - I refuse to stand like a dummy next to a trolley cart.

  Need advice/opinions about DF Husband who woke up

  my husband was df 3 years ago.

  i still attended meetings but not regularly and for the past 10 months i have not attended any at all.

  my husband wanted to get reinstated until maybe a few months ago when i started to help him to wake up.

  Some very good advice for you from the above forum members Whynot.

  May I ask what your "attachment" is?

  Is it close family in the borg?

  Is it the jw hope for the future? (Resurrection/Paradise)

  If it's the former then maybe, just maybe a reinstatement and fade out IS the way to go.

  If largely the latter then maybe you can retain a "Christian" belief and hope without going through 8 deluded men in New York - just go "direct" in your thoughts and prayers.

  If you want to reinforce and support each other for as long as you retain some semblance of christian beliefs play the "Jehovah understands" broken record out loud.
