Imagine a big wide tie with that on it - wear it for a student talk at the KH - whether you have a beard or not!

Thanks for this - looking at parts 2 through 5 they don't seem to play to the end of their allotted time but "hang".

So What Drastic Money Change is Next?
by OnTheWayOut inokay, they cheapened the product by getting rid of hardcover books.
they reduced printing of mags.
they drastically reduced the number of pieces of printed paper that members would "place" in people's hands in various ways, the biggest one being that they put them on a cart and don't encourage people to take them.they cut d.o.

I think that they (Slim will hate this ...) will stay self sufficient.
They will just sell off KH's in a reactionary way depending how the lawsuits stack up. More lawsuits will bring "NEW LIGHT" of one meeting a week at one triplex KH per city or area - each then be shared by 15-20 congregations.
Let me explain by example.
Plymouth in the UK - now 8 congregation sharing 3 halls.
1 hall is a modern 3 hall complex where 5 congs and a Polish group meet - the other three are slightly outlying with one cong per hall.
By moving those three (selling their KH's of course!) into the 3 hall complex you could have 9 congs and one group. THAT is with two meetings a week!
NEXT STAGE
Drop to one per week with a 30 mile radius and this complex could house 20 and have congregations from as far afield as Bodmin, Launceston and Totnes.
Another super triple hall each in Truro, Torquay and Exeter would mean that Devon and Cornwall would have only 4 jw.borg buildings for 60 odd congregations with journeys largely on 70 mph dual carriageways/motorways.
In the "west" the borg is so property rich and with so much opportunity to go on line it is unlikely to have big financial woes for a long time to come.

JW UK Branch update 2018: "Follow the White Elephant"

That was brilliant! (Loved the "Steptoe and Son" theme tune towards the end - Brits will understand)
I'm sure we all knew about NO MORE PRINTERY - but the point about 14 accommodation blocks down to 5 shows up what a vanity project it was/is!
I think some of the Peter Bell and GB (esp TPT) stuff was cut for comic effect so I wouldn't take it as gospel.
Maybe Fay Dehr will tell us more.

WT Finger Pointing
by Vanderhoven7 indo you have examples of wt style finger pointing (with 3 pointing right back).
"satans organization claims to be gods organization, and persecutes those who are actually members of gods organization.
satans organization sails under the high-sounding name of "christendom".

More Victims Sue Church
Victims of sexual abuse in Australian religious institutions run by Catholic “brothers” are banding together to take what The Canberra Times describes as one of the biggest class actions in Australian legal history. An application to allow more than 250 writs to be lodged for compensation was filed recently by an organization representing former child victims.
The abuse is alleged to have occurred from the 1940’s right up until the 1980’s, and the main defendants cited in the writs include several Catholic archdioceses. One Marist brother has already been convicted of sexual assault. The lawyer representing the victim in this case said: “We’re facing the tip of the iceberg. There’s a deluge of actions likely to occur in the next few years. All religious institutions would need to be concerned.”

O'Brien (Branch co-ordinator Australia) Lies.
From 1:25 - 1:45
He says the whole purpose for DF/DA is to help the person see the benefits of associating.
From 1:45 - 2:00
He says a DA'd person particularly (rather than a DF'd person) doesn't have to go through a lengthy procedure to come back (to jw's)
Liar, Liar, (tight) pants on fire!

I understood poopie to say ...
"It's not just the disfellowshipping - it's the shunning, Canada!"
I get that the cult might DF and stop association in meetings and ministry. But there is no reason to enforce shunning. Especially close family shunning.
So you get an uptick from me poopster!

DO's officially finished on August 31st 2014. Also the travelling overseer upper limit of age 70 came in then and so that naturally culled a lot of them along with many CO's too.
The DO's used to usually get drawn from the ranks of the CO's. They oversaw the District conventions, went with the CO twice a year to congregations to "encourage" and train them.
They would also ride shotgun with a regular CO on more difficult or multi-circuit "problems".
Now the longer serving and more capable CO's oversee the REGIONAL conventions and also go with the less experienced CO's to "problem" congregations but less frequently than twice a year.

I have nothing more to add other than the Judge decides - not the police. He was there. We weren't.
I'd rather be having a conversation about this with you guys and gals than going on the ministry that's for sure!
Okay. I'm out on this one unless other stuff comes to light in the near future. Have a lovely day everyone.

The Guardians journalists are our friends when they highlight JW child abuse and the United Nations link to Watchtower aren't they?
They may well even have their head in the clouds and sit around at left leaning dinner parties in the London-bubble but they aren't reporting for extreme or far-left papers and I believe that in general terms they aim for accuracy in their stories.
And if you had highlighted journalists on the more "on the right of centre" Daily Mail - like John Junor or Keith Waterhouse I'd believe their desire for honesty and accuracy too.
