Sparrowdown said "Personally I think the best way to expose JWs to the wider population is by comedy and satire."
Yes that's true - except to have comedy work the audience needs to understand the subject - so comedy and satire can work on those JW's themselves who are becoming increasingly embarrassed at JW policies and conduct. It can also work to make JW's and their door knocking and cart work appear irrelevant and pointless and embarrassing.
For the wider population you need to expose their wicked policies more seriously such as enforced shunning, covering over child abuse to save face and dollars and the death-dealing blood issue.
So apostates exposing these awful policies in the media is a very good way to highlight the flaws in the JW cult and inoculate more and more from joining them.
As for doubter the spouter he/she seems as useful as a chocolate fireguard.

Getting all heated up to defend Donald Trump is very strange.
It's like getting all heated up to defend Hillary Clinton.
One of them will feed your desire to make the country safer by keeping out the "wrong" type of foreigner the other will feed your desire to make the country safer by embracing the "right" type of foreigner.
Neither of them will do much to make your life better.
Go and support a football team - at least you can join a tribe, get drunk and chant at opposing fans.

And welcome Sara too.
Ask away. Carefully research the answers and make sure that what you are told here rings true.
After a lifetime of being a jw - MS then an Elder for over 25 years and now inactive/faded - I can tell you that you will get honest helpful experienced advice and support on this forum.
But I still ask that you check us out thoroughly. Unlike at the kingdom hall when those "nice" ladies with their "nice" smiles hear you have doubts and concerns that they cannot address, we want you to be sure of the accuracy of our claims.

Hello from the UK, IamWhatIam!
Your post explaining your 4 years as a JW is wonderful to hear.
You have seen and learned in 4 years what it took me 40 years to find out and accept.
Well done sir! Well done!
Have a great life and use your education to help yourself and mankind.

finance is already sorted - they're waiting for me to give them my new student number so that they can start paying me.
just need to formally accept bristol's offer and sort out accommodation.. accommodation should be ok - i've been told priority is given to new students, plus i'm enrolling onto a program for a real degree as a postgraduate - i won't be studying gender studies or some crap like that.

Doubter, somewhere in his jw-addled condescending posts wonders what the Watchtower loses of significance because of protests like this one in Philadelphia.
What they lose is members and their money as tangible losses. They lose credibility as intangible ones. They lose the ability to bring in replacements for those who die or leave.
That is significant loss.

O'Brien is the balding one who said that abuse victims could go choose to go inactive to avoid DA'ing and Angus Stuart politely and skilfully exposed his words as the crafty lies they were.

My general understanding of the 1940's through early 1970's was that the Knorr/Franz combo was Franz came up with the stuff and Knorr ran the business to sell it.

I love this forum for the way a "leaked" document is dissected thoroughly (even if it seems to support my views) so that the truth may be obtained.
No fear here of what is said and who said it; just a desire to get things accurate.
