One Thing I Don't Get About Brexit
by JW_Rogue inhow did such a weighty decision get put directly in the hands on the average citizen?
and with only a simple majority required?
in the usa the biggest thing that people vote on directly is city building projects or infrastructure.

It's not the people's "job" to investigate about the EU. It's the people's job to be fed bread and circuses!

Why not get to the meeting early and unseen quickly pin an envelope with a card in it to the KH noticeboard with instructions written in big letters on it for it to be given to the C/O.
The COBE or another elder will see it, take it from the noticeboard and give it to the CO who will likely put it away to be opened when he gets home.
When he gets home he will open the card and you can have anonymously written:
Dear (name)
I wanted to write a few lines to say how much I appreciate your self sacrificing attitude for the brotherhood and how encouraging your visits are. Sadly this is not true. How you can promote the support of an organization which fails to report child molesters to Caesar and promote the support of the risable doctrine of "overlapping generations" that saw 1914 is beyond me!
Therefore instead of giving yet more dollars to a representative of a cult that lives off of members donations anyway I have sent $100.00 to a more worthy cause.
Yours truly,
An anonymous member of your circuit.

Look JW_Rogue - over here in London we have the mother of all parliaments (or mother of something! )
Without the English civil war in the 1640's modern day democracy would never have happened and then spread to the rest of Europe let alone in some outpost of the British Empire now called the USA.
So now what we do in the UK is ask "the people" what they want. The fact that 50% of "the people" have an IQ lower than 85 didn't deter the UK government from every few decades asking what they want to do! In the past they have been able to "guide the voters" to do their bidding.
But despite the manipulation and craftiness and the support of much of the media the IQ85'ers (ie thicko's) have swung it to an OUT vote.
Now watch all the back tracking and meltdowns and loss of office of party leaders until it all settles down and everyone realises that this wasn't the Battle of the Somme and life will continue in a "Keep Calm and Carry On" sort of way with a few weedy protests and twitchings of talons from the disgruntled.

Do "jihadist extremist" beliefs deserve respect? Only in the same way as Anders Breivik's beliefs deserve respect.

Flat Earth believers deserve respect in the same way as those who believe the Moon is made of cheese deserve respect.

British Branch Committee
by Paul Bonanno indoes anyone know the present members of the british branch committee?.

They haven't gone - the old boys are oxygen tent dodging in the infirmary but have been removed from being trustees - as in UK charity trustees. I thought Paul Gillies was still on the strength.

Who are the "Inactive"?
by thereishope inthis was my starting point in this journey of rediscovery, and i've made great strides, but here i am again asking the same question.
all this talk re the rc and the shunning of the inactive ones.
there is no announcement made obviously about "shun sister so-and-so, as she is inactive.

@dropofyourkeylee
Ah that tiny group who are inactive but go for family. If you go for family then you probably have relationships you feel are worth salvaging. If you don't rock the boat with what you say or do you will probably be allowed to carry on unhindered.
Bit like the Borg in Star Trek - if you aren't perceived as a threat you get to walk among them with a few mates without being attacked! (until it suits them of course.)
