well beards are still a no no!!!!!!.
in a new letter from the branch/gb nut's, beards are not acceptable in the us branch area!!!!!!.
my eldub brother in law, shared this today.
In defence of Dwain and to parry Barrold's assertion.
Often whacky stuff would go in a letter to just CO's - especially stuff from a branch and not worldwide. He will then tell the Elders and possibly MS's. Remember "the Metrosexual tight pants" malarkey? That was through CO's at E&MS meetings.
My guess is that the CO is telling them that beards are a no-no on assembly platforms and at circuit level (where all aspiring Elders and fast-track MS's want to be) and then the minimal intelligence elders will follow suit at "their" congregations in most cases.
They've caused themselves yet more damage aboard their "ship of fools".
Good!
i attended a sunday meeting today after missing a couple due to a bout of chronic apathy.
out of 74 publishers we had a grand total of 33. wonderful.
for those that attend, how are you finding the numbers?.
@sir82 "I wonder if the attendants are inflating the counts?"
The scene: end of a CLAM meeting and a serious faced elder goes up to announce "Sister Y-shape has been reproved". Sister Y-shape sits red-faced at the back of the hall.
Attendant goes up to "serious faced elder" and asks quietly:
"Excuse me but I wonder if Sister Y-shape is pregnant? Of course I only ask because if she is then we can add another one to the meeting count. Actually, I could ask her if it's twins ..."
@A Believer
That's a true story that. About as true as the generation lies promoted by Watchtower turned out to be.

Many of you seem to have built on my little phrase of "chronic apathy" in this thread.
For those of us that attend to keep the peace ...
As one poster alluded - apathy can reach the parts apostasy cannot reach.
Maybe we should just shrug our shoulders and grin when counselled by elders to:
Do more, give more, attend more, pre-study more, work on the hall more, answer up.
Maybe we should just shrug our shoulders and say "nah thanks! don't feel like it" when invited by the zealous to stand next to a cart or go on the ministry with them.
And when our family want us to go to the hall with them just shrug your shoulders and say "no thanks, can't be bothered". instead of feigning sickness.
Might be a plan, Stan!
just popped on to see if december broadcast was up and it's not.. however, there is a new vid of bro.
morris addressing child abuse within the org.. https://tv.jw.org/#en/video/vodstudio/pub-jwban_201507_2_video.
I quickly looked at jborg and can't see it?

How about some numbers attending v publishers? "a high" and "lots" sound like "soon".

at a 3-day convention in nairobi, kenya this week 12-2-16 through 12-4-16, they had 70,000+ attendance, and there were 792 baptized (i presume the baptism was yesterday).
i was amazed to hear this; i guess now we know where the wt's growth is coming from..
Well it sounds a lot. But it's only 1.13%. In a poor disadvantaged prime area for JW recruitment.
If that was a regional assembly in the USA and it was 79 baptised from 7000 attending it would be good but not outstanding.
i registered in the board and i wanted to present myself.. i used to visit this forum some time ago and even register an account but then i tried to convince myself all was ok in the congregation.
now, i'm coming back :).
i live in a southern european nation, i'm a young jw, a good example in the congregation serving as a regular pioneer and ms. for all in the congregation i'm the good guy, one of the best examples in the area i live.
Hi Skepsis!
Your written English is almost perfect. Well done. A STEM degree is wonderful.
Now, get hold of a May 22nd Awake from 1969 and look at page 15 paragraphs 1 and 2. If they have proved true then give up any career and pioneer full time. If not ...
very stressfull and upsetting evening was had last night.
i dropped my 2yo daughter off to my ex-wifes home.
all seemed good until i got home.
I had a brother come to me when I was an elder. He and his wife were "scripturally divorced" but both were jw's "the guilty party - her" having been reinstated.
The ex-wife was causing problems over access issues. She knew her ex-husband (the brother) had been abused by an older witness when he was just nine years old. (I knew about this abuse and the perpetrator had been df'd)
She threatened to go to child protection services and say that he consented to his abuse and fully participated in it (he was nine years old remember?) and could be a danger to their own child if he had unsupervised access.
This was a long time ago and the brother has a very good relationship with the child - his daughter who is now in her early twenties.
There are some evil bitches out there.
