If the attack was in the daylight hours on a weekday - who knows why?
Unusual for just one person to be at a KH (though might be collecting, dropping off trolley carts I suppose?) and then be attacked by a random stranger though.
Hall cleaning disturbed/Judicial committee gone wrong? But doesn't mention witnesses (as in witnesses to the crime).
The fact that a man was arrested nearby makes me wonder why he "hung around" to be arrested.
Hope we find out and it doesn't get buried and forgotten what with the UK election coming up tomorrow.

Yes - and the convention videos are on line beforehand - then they are pulled apart by those who know TTATT with WT's own literature references (1975) or the "old Testament" (wife of lot), and it shows that what we post is generally absolutely true!

Family dynamics and cult influence
by longgone inthe following incident is nothing unusual to any jw, but i wanted to add on to the list of reasons to never join, and sympathize with those stuck in it, and again a reminder that you can never get away from the mayhem when you have family still in.
in a recent conversation with my jw sister who i love very much, i was reminded how complex and abnormal relationships can become within a jehovah's witness family.families relationships can be difficult with any religion or none, but once we throw in the various labels and restrictions within the jw family it becomes really cultish.
no one outside it could begin to understand.

Hypocrite elder in our hall has contact with and welcomes into his home his son (who is baptised but who slipped out from jwland "under the radar" twenty years ago - with the Daddy elder keeping his mouth shut and playing craftily by the jw elder book "inactive" rules to what he surely knew was going on) who lives with his "partner" and has a teenage child with her.
Right across the street from said baptised "under the radar" son lives the lady who went to a works Xmas party and who was "unrepentant" and DF'd by said elder and two cronies.
So when Daddy visits son and grandchild - if DF'd lady is in the garden then Daddy will shun her like the true JW hypocrite he is.

You have to be firm about it but not giving them any "apostate" ammunition. Practice doing what The Searcher says in his post.
If they take too long for your liking just do the following -
1. Tell the elders that effective immediately you will not be doing any more platform assignments or leading field service groups. Don't turn up at the meeting on any day you are assigned.
2. Tell everyone else that you have resigned as an elder and are waiting for the elders to sort out the paperwork and the announcement.
That will hurry them along for sure.
