sometimes i find myself carefully monitering a persons body language, whatching for instinctive reactions listening carefully to thier words.
just jws and some extended family, and almost anyone i do business with.
not out of fear but to find out if there is a selfish motive or agenda.
It's good to stay aware of whats happening around you... especially with people.. most of what we say is in our body language, thats how I can tell if my kids are lying to me or not LOL
All my boys (husband included), smile at one side of their mouths when they are lying, and they look away and dont make eye contact when they're spinning me a story......
Dont get too paranoid, but dont get to complacent either.....

Pirata, your post said it all for me.... they came to my house to 'witness' at a time in my life when I was vulnerable. I had a very close call with death during childbirth with my second son and I had questions... lots of them.....

I have missed this place, and I am noticing the cycles.... I guess some of us come here at a time in our lives when we NEED JWN (thanks so much to deticated people who keep it going), some of us float back and forth, and others 'bless them' are here almost every day to help people who are or were newbies like me find their way through...
For those who dont know me, I studied to become a JW in 2007-08 for almost 18 months... I was keen and eager to learn as much as I could and read more WT and Awakes than I ever wish too ever again.... I left quite abruptly when I learned the truth about the truth.... long story with a great result- I got the heck outta there
I've been full cycle since joining here; I've been shocked, I've gotten angry... ok, very angry at times, I've spoken my piece and had some interesting debates here about issues... these days Iam happy to agree to disagree.
My current religious status is- I'am not religious, but very open to spirituality and the sacred (still a Deist of sorts). I have a busy life, full of kids, pets, husband, study and enjoying almost every minute of it!

so, over the xmas / new-year break we finally got around to going for some skiing lessons (yeah, we've only been in canada 4 years and in calgary right on the doorstep of the rockies).
we went to nakiska ski resort in kananaskis which is about an hour west of calgary.
it was fantastic and the kids loved it too - we're already planning our next trip to practice what we learnt.. we're probably going to invest in some gear too but man, there is so much to learn - so many brands and variations on everything (skis, poles, boots, you name it).. it's probably better to rent for a while first (even though the rental part is a pita) until we know what we need but the boots and stuff look so coool !!!
It's great to hear your family had a wonderfull holiday skiing... definatly buy your own gear when you know what you need to get- cause then you will have go more often...
