a few years after i quit the meetings my mum needed her medical directive signed and witnessed and she asked if i'd do it.

i was surprised to say the least!.

i think she was just angling to include me and maybe find some lever to get me involved again.

As for the B&W thinking:

All I said in my first post is that I would respect my mothers wishes.

Then a few people try to tell me that I am wrong without knowing the nuances of my situation. It was not an argument that I was looking for. I just had a few ignorant people trying to convince me that I am wrong without knowing any of the facts.

Frankly I do not care what anyone thinks about my decisions, unless they know the entirety of my situation, and I respect their opinion. OTWO does, and I appreciated his imput. I am now done talking about it.

Let the know-it-alls continue on . . .

They make the same excuses as to why they are not cults; but have absolutely no problem with calling similar religions by that name. JW v. Mormon v. Scientologist, et al.

I understand your situation full well. I do not understand some dogmatic people that condemned me for just saying that I would respect my mother's wishes. They are usually the ones that are short-sighted and dogmatic about everything.

My mother is well into her nineties. They would challenge that I am a creep because I wouldn't transfuse her, but would have no problem with me signing a "do not resusitate order."

I think each case is different, and most people can STFU about their opinions.
