  i am sorry that on my first post i am asking for help and advice but i am at my wits end.

  i have been brought up a witness all my life and it is all i know.

  i am an ex-elder and pioneer and i don't know anybody outside of the congregation.. i have been unhappy for so long and wanted to leave.

  Well you did take down the gofundme site. That is a good start. I probably may have reacted like some others here if you had not.

  What I think we have here is a failure to communicate.

  We need more information. We have had frauds here before you, and I am sure more in the future. So try not to get your panties in a bunch that people are skeptical.

  You apparently have been coddled. A 3rd or more generation witness (they may be overlapping). I hate to break it to you, there are no "green handshakes" outside of the religion. Do not expect funding from us.

  We will give you support. But first let us get to know you.

  they were bragging about how quickly they grew to over 2000 members.

Completely, especially since I give away free DVDs every week and will be giving away copies of my NY TIMES best seller. Take care."

  Newer response as I am writing this: "I literally care less than zero what you think. Again, your loss. Your friend someone you don't even know but hey pissed off about being added to a closed group, the best on Facebook. What a loser. LOL"

  I would say he can go procreate with himself, but I would be accused of being anti-gay.

  And I could care less about his cheesy writings and DVD's. Even if I could get a free copy, LOL!

  No problem for me, but thank you for your sentiments.

  It is primarily a problem for faders. They can be outed as an apostate by browsers of FaceBook. Even just being a member of an apostate group is enough for an elder with a burr up his ass.

  Like I said, there was a real huge problem with another group(AAWA)adding people that didn't know about it. Do a search of the archives if you are interested.

  "Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses AKA Behind The Veil of JW.org" added me this afternoon. They were bragging about how quickly they grew to over 2000 members. I quickly exited the group. The guy that did it was Tim Nasson, someone I do not know.

  This is so uncool. I hope faders are not affected. This reminds me of the wAAWAh fiasco. Even though it is a closed group instead of open, it could still cause someone a problem. I have a friend that was disfellowshipped and lost his inheritance with the last debacle.

  Check your groups on FB next time you are on.

  Hello Billy,

  I believe that you are the first Christadelphian that I have ever corresponded with. It is nice to know someone from a different fork splintering from the Millerites. For us the "Great Disappointment" keeps going on in perpetuity.

  I am glad that I found an exit. I am now an atheist, and am much happier now that I do not believe the apocalyptic fear mongering anymore.

  What's a word that describes the way Witnesses behave as a group?

  i can't recall the word that describes a group that keeps to itself like the witnesses do.

  i thought it was "insular" but i don't think that's the one i'm looking for after reading the definition.

  i remember an elder using the word "clannish" and that has the proper definition but it reminds me of a group of elves.

  Had a wonderful visit with Mr and Mrs Flipper Sat.

  i haven't posted much lately because i got a new job at the end of nov. and it's taken much of my time and mental energy.

  i still read though and care for you all very much so i thought i should let you know about the meet-up i had yesterday with mr and mrs flipper.. hubby got a call the day before from flipper saying he and his wife were going to visit his mother (who is in a rest home in my town) and would we like to meet up for coffee?

  hubby couldn't make it but i was delighted to accept.. we picked a burger place not far from the rest home and where i knew jdubs don't usually hang out on saturdays.

  a very close friend of mine has gotten his letter.

  although he was planning to leave willingly, he told me that he can't help but feel a sense of being stabbed in the back by a bunch of self righteous traitors.

  he gave tours for years, always telling the visitors "this is the best way of life, i would never change anything here and i'll never regret making this decision to come here.

  Travel recommendations?

  hey guys.

  i've decided that during this time of being dfed, maybe trying to get reinstated, i'm going to enjoy my time with myself.

  that being said, i would like to do some traveling when the weather warms up across the us.
