if a decades-long apostate decides that they should marry a semi-active jw, what odds would you put on the viability of the marriage?
if not viable, how long before the shit would hit the fan?

just heard that a young brother committed suicide this week - the whole congregation is naturally very distressed.
what a tragedy.
according to my source he'd only been married about a year and his wife found him - he’d hung himself.
Wake me said, "NEVER ONCE did I EVER tell my therapist that I was a Jehovah's Witness. I was too concerned about protecting the cult! ... That therapist was unable to help me."
I was afraid to bring reproach on Jehovah and never mentioned that I was a JW when I was in counseling. I had many multiple diagnoses because of that that were wrong and really messed me up for a time. Fortunately, I eventually went to someone and told them that I was a former JW. Now I just have one diagnosis, Complex PTSD.
I am glad that I had the courage to finally speak the truth. Unfortunately, others live a life of misery without getting help. Some resort to the ultimate solution, like in the OP.
Many condolences to the family and his young wife.

i remember when that came out, my mother didn't catch it in the original article in the wt.
it was in one of the review "do you remember" thingies that she caught it.
she asked me if it means what she thought it meant.
SBF,
Or 1930's Nazism.
Hello Dachau,
We are headed for a repeat and rinse.

1914 is so lame now. It is a freaking joke. I don't care how much saccharin they shovel on it it is still bullshit. Sweet shit is still shit. 104 fucking years. One generation. I am so glad that I am out. I wish everyone could be, but some chose to stay. What was it that Barnum used to say, a sucker is born every minute?

She asked me if it means what she thought it meant. I told her yes, and it took her a while to wrap her head around it, to compartmentalize it so she could move on.
She was an old woman at that point and knew her time was short. I understand that she had invested most of her life in the organization.
What I don't understand is why there wasn't a mass exodus from the religion when they came up with that bullshit. I would have thought half would have left. I guess mind-control is a powerful thing!

the reader is very chicago-oriented but for your benefit while reading, "the el" is the elevated train system that ties in with the subway system for commuters and "cta" is the chicago transit authority that runs the commuter trains and buses.

I would make them stay on the sidewalks. I should be on the CTA board.
by the time i finish this post, i will have turned 50 years old.
i spent over 40 years of my life not celebrating my birthday, and it never seemed like a big deal to me.
three years ago, i received a cake and some friends sang "happy birthday" to me at a dinner party that was for a different event.
Happy Birthday!
i am stoked about going to see dweezil zappa in concert on thursday.
it is going to be a date night, and the person i am taking never had the chance to see his father frank in concert.
i know that she will appreciate the complexity and beauty of his music, as well as some of his off-color humor.. yes "humor does belong in music!".
OC,
Joe's Garage is one of my albums. It was one of FZ's too.
