I have to say that a outburst in the Kingdom Hall or whatever, shouldn't rattle the JW, ESPECIALLY in the inner city/ghetto. I was raised in the inner city and I remember cases where nutcases came in the hall. Some were JW, while others came off the street and we're firmly escorted off property. I remember one of my childhood friends talking about a incident with a homeless, crazy man coming in the hall and making a disturbance. He said his father, a elder, and a few other brothers got physical with the guy. They got in a few punches right in the Hall. Therefore, I don't think JW will assume a "apostate" will be the ones guaranteed to disrupt a service. Their meetings are open to the PUBLIC you know. They can just make their Memorial a private event with ONLY invited guests by their invitation. That would cut down on the crazies coming in. I know they do a decent job of security at the halls. At least the ones where I went to. They always had the big brother sit by the door or at the desk with the CCTVs. Hey but if we want to take it to the extreme, hypothetically speaking, a person could come in the hall dressed up and leave a bag with a bomb and walk out. I heard of bomb threat at the old Woodland Hills assembly hall, which was over 13 years ago. Everybody had to quietly evacuate that day. I still don't know who was behind it. Maybe a EXJW. Anyways, it's a crazy world with crazy people and crazy religions. -

This Year's Memorial
by TD inperhaps i'm just getting older and crankier, but it really seems to me that the jw faith is deteriorating at an accelerated rate.. case in point: this year's memorial talk.
it was one of the most incoherent messes i've ever heard.
(and i've heard a lot of memorial talks over the last 50 years....).

The celebration/observance has got to be worse time wasting event ever. Not surprised that it's become more dull over the years. I was invited by family and this nagging elder, who still calls me from time to time though I've moved out the area as fader. I'm just going to tell that guy to stop calling next time, even if I have to spill the beans on my disbelief of the WT. I'll take the D'fed card now. I'm sick of their sh**. Anyways, the memorial should be just for the "anointed" in theory. Save the rest of the "sheep" with this time waste. Will never happen though

Getting JWs To Think By Using Their Own Tactics On Them.
by Island Man ini've been thinking that an effective way to expose the idiocy and vacuousness of jwism is to use it right back on them when they come to your door.
say you're a fader and you've moved to the territory of a different circuit where the jws there don't know your jw background.
when they come knocking at your door, just put on the jw mindset and pretend to yourself that the jws at the door are not jws but members of a "false religion.".

Sounds clever but I think you will tip off that you were or had association with the JWs. How many Christian religions interpret the scriptures the same as them? A dead giveaway would be using Proverbs 4:18

"The Watchtower Society is irrelevant"? Not to the believing JW. You ARE a enemy to them, if you speak out against their beliefs and leadership. How is it possible to reach out to the people we care about without bringing down the WT? You can't get to one without running over the other.

I understand the sentiments of the ones against this protest. I wouldn't do it, even in a more thoughtful approach. That's me but I just don't agree on NOT doing this type of protest at all. I do think that a aggressive statement is needed sometimes. This protest was JUST for the memorial, which is once a year as you know. It's not like they go to Kingdom halls every week and do this. Something said between the fluff will stick on someone's brain. Regardless, WE are ALL ENEMIES of the WT whatever your approach is. A staunch believer will avoid everything critical of their beliefs.

Real talk: This be a civilized apostate talk is not how everyone will be upon leaving the WT. The hurt caused by that cult may be too strong for some to be non aggressive. It's like the recent problem in Ferguson. You have people who been mistreated and abuse for so long, that they react violently when a opportunity presents itself to release their frustration. Trying to get ALL EXJW to act a certain way is a waste of time in my opinion. That memorial crash could not have been recorded and we would have never known nothing about it, unless someone knew of it and informed this forum. -

still in .. wishing for a ttatt brother in the hall
by user100 inthe entire hall was invited to a party at a brothers house after the memorial.. actually had conversations with a few people.. two guys that were recently disfellowshipped and since re-instated... would love to see what they really think about the religion.. but have no idea how to bring it up.. .
my beliefs are quite in the open (i think), i am inactive and do not comment or give talks.. i dont sing, i dont close my eyes during prayers and i dont say amen... funny though.. we were having a conversation, one of the recently re-instated asked me which service group i belong to.. my reply after some thought was... "i have no idea" .. coz seriously.. i had no idea.
wonder how that went... they all laughed it off including the pioneer drone standing next to me... i am tempted to ask them if they value freedom of speech and if so do they think we have freedom of speech in the jw religion.....

Damn.... @user100. You don't comment, sing, or pray at meetings. HOW ARE YOU STILL IN? Ok, your wife wants you to still go but your position is essentially like a DF'ed person LOL. You must be in a pretty liberal congo. Hey just wait for a TTAT brother to come to you. If there are.....they will be inclined to talk to a brother they feel is safe to talk to -

A lot of what's been said is true, at least from what I saw when I left 6 years ago. You have your small number of Super JW and like always, the one shoe in/one shoe out crowd. The latter is that great crowd so to speak. That's the ones who do just enough to get by. They would leave if the opportunity presents itself. The RIGHT opportunity that is. Most of the ones I remember could explain the doctrine well enough to convert a new person but when faced with tough questions about the WT history and ever changing policies, they would have no answer but "Wait on Jehovah". I feel for the new breed, that's the newborns in this cult. They will continue to keep the family tree going for the WT unfortunately. Hopefully, the GB will do or say something that's completely outrageous in the near future. Maybe that will wake up a large number -

Substitute "I'm" for "he" in this statement and this is my response
