Alright, my heart is pumping. I'll try to keep this short.
Before I left I had made quite a few friends over in England, from going to assemblies. Over a couple of years they visited me in California, I visited them in England. We became a big family. The very first person I met there became especially close to me. Shortly before I left he was DFd I think. All of his friends in England turned their backs and he disappeared. He moved countries. I moved out of the area. I lost contact with him. Soon afterward I left, and I lost all my JW friends in both the U.S. and the U.K.
I found out about a year ago that he had moved to New York. I tried to track him down but was unsuccessful. A couple months back I stumbled upon a post from someone here on this board who was having doubts. He had posted in a thread about street witnesses in my area. Then he mentioned the name of a girl who was my best friend while I was still in. I noticed he was from the U.K. and my heart stopped. So I sent him an email. Yesterday, nearly 2 months later I received a reply. It wasn't who I was looking for, but was the brother of an old friend who had stayed with me once on a trip. Next email I got was from the person I was looking for!!! My friend who I had lost touch with 3 years ago. His friend who I had emailed forwarded him my JW forum profile.
So anyway, we stayed up last night talking forever. I'm going back to England this summer for his wedding. And I am so excited that I now have this special person back in my life. What a small world the Ex JWs are..... Woot!!!!!!! Woot!!!!!
hey all,.
left the org approx.
one month ago, so i'm freshly out and still working my way through the depression of losing my three best friends... but anyway, not important, what i was wondering was if any of you got this line from the elders the night you went to meet with them... so here's my story, take it or leave it.. i'm a homosexual, i've known since i was young, not raised in "the truth" but converted when i was seventeen, four years ago... anyway, i suppressed it, etc, until i decided that i wanted to leave the org.
Yay MATTNOEL....... I would love to see your story posted on a thread of it's own. That way I can respond without ignoring this subject. I am soooooo glad to have you back in my life. What a coincedence huh? After all this time. And I'm so proud of your accomplishments. I can't wait till my visit this summer. And like we said before..... "Fuck the screwed up people."
i remember just a few short years back at my old congregation, there were a few younger brothers and sisters joining gyms and going to work out.
well, i guess the elders found out that everyone's free time wasn't being spent pioneering, so a talk (down to) was given one sunday on "not letting worldy pursuits take your eyes off the prize" or some shit like that.
the whole talk was about how we should devote all time to the wts and field service, and that going to or belong to a gym was just a worldly pursuit and that it was just making or bodies "showy".
We had this same talk given a couple times. I think it was partly because of the CO at the time starting it. In our hall, a bunch of the sisters were in to working out. Several all attended an all female gym that I worked at. One Saturday a month we'd get together and do an 8 mile hike. The CO said we could be using the time spent working out to pursue spiritual interests. Funny, out of 8 of the sisters, 5 were regular pioneers. One sisters, with a particulary nice, 'ripped' body was constantly being leered at bythe the elders who condemned 'wasting time' working out.
it's my birthday today and i'm just off out for a drink (or maybe a few !
) with some friends; i've opened all my presents and i'm so happy i'm having birthdays again !.
happy birthday to lilacs and cassilines son, it's theirs today too
Here's a little present for ya *muah*
there is a band called the new radicals.
they had a hit album about 4 or 5 years ago.
i bought the album while still a good little dub.
Very good one..... I just might have to steal that one. Don't sue me for royalties later k?
A line from one of my "real" songs is :
What makes you think the world is going to end?
It's just because we're all afraid of death
Praise the Lord and give him all your faith
Tommorrow you'll be suffering with AIDS
I think the deleted Armegeddon, this is Hell" comment might fit in rather nicely there.

I agree with you....... bunch of Manics.....
:)
I like the words though. It's like what else can you find to complain about....... But it does give a nod to people who use religion as a cover for judgement and hypocrasy
p.s. I've been chillin on this board too much. It's growing much too nice :) I'm finding it harder and harder to say 'Fuck Authority'
first of all i made a retraction on my request for help, you people who have attacked me have ignored it.
secondly i made a public apology to simon, you people who have attacked me have ignored it.
those of you know who i am talking about, i publically ask that you stop the personal attacks and leave me alone.
