hello,forum.my name is dallas and i live in oklahoma.i left the jehovahs witnesses in 1998 after a former member showed me the 1925 false prophecy.i knew circuit overseer william osbeck very well,he left my circuit only to be replaced with brother"if you knock the society i will scream"boatz.he was nothing but a first class coward.he wouldnt even meet with me after i had disassociated myself.i have no regrets about leaving,why didnt my conducters bring up the 1925 failure while i was studying?they failed to mention it.anyway i am glad to be free.god bless you all.-dallas

what's you're reaction, if any, to the basic premis of the book (that the holy grail is ... oops - i don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it yet).

the author takes a ficticious incident and weaves some little-known yet interesting and provacative facts throughout his story.

according to a jw witness friend of mine it is not always necessary to go to the elders to confess, not even the more serious sins such as immorality.. she said the only reason one would go to the elders is if they feel they no longer have jehovah's favor.

the elders are there to help them see they can still be loved by jehovah.. is she on crack!

i had a long discussion with her yesterday about religion and jws.

Yes I just finished the book a couple of weeks ago. I absolutely LOVED it. I loved the Lourve, and loved having a detailed story involving it. It certainly was provocative. Only complaint is that I figured out "The Teacher" right away. I took it with me to Vegas and had people coming up to me in the lobby to tell me how much they enjoyed reading it.

p.s. not to ruin it for you but "The Teacher" is the stable boy :)

i picked up the new d12 album.

i know i'm a hypocrite, they go against everything i stand for, but man are they funny.. i check out the "thank you" section of the enclosed booklet.

I have been feeling down....

im not feeling the greatest lately.

looking for some comfort on the only place i feel theres people who understand me.

the last few months have been the most enlightening in my life, showing me that i can be myself, and think for myself without being opressed by a religion that obviously does not care on how their people feel.

Hiya Castles man. :) Do what I do when I'm feeling down, head on over to the strip club.

Actually what you're feeling right now is very very normal. When I first left and moved out I was so sad. I thought, they were right all along, I couldnt possibly be happy without the religion. That's what the shunning is about, to try and make you life so miserable you come crawling back. Reality of it all is this board. Look at how many people have gotten through it, started wonderful, new, productive, happy, successful lives. In time it will happen for you too. In the begining it feels like the end of the world. It hurts so much. Trust me when I say it does get easier and things do sort themselves out. I'm the happiest I've ever been now. But it took time. Hang in there.

Oh yeah, and that doesnt work, seriously, check out the strip club
