49.9% ???
Sounds like the mortgage rate on 'quick-builds'....
i don't know if this has already been posted??.
according to the uk may kingdom ministry, there will now be facilities in place to accept donations by credit cards and debit cards at all english language conventions.
as far as i am aware this is the first time that this happened in the uk, although it have have been introduced in other countries at an earlier time.. i suppose that the gb are hoping that the dubs will be so overwhelmed by the "whole convention experience" that they will get themselves into debt, paying money they don't have into the society coffers.. i am also sure that at every break, an announcement will be made explaining exactly where these credit card machine facilities will be.. also another first, next to each contribution box will be a big wad of the gift aid forms, so the wt will get an additional 22% on top paid for by the goverment.
49.9% ???

hey bro, i just thought it may interest you to know that they read a letter last night describing how they need to build a new printing facility up at patterson that will be the size of two assembly halls.
they will be getting all new printing machines to be shipped from all over the world, and they will need many volunteers for the project to be completed by january 2004. and we should all realize that this is going to be at a tremendous cost, the buildings alone should cost about 60,000,000 dollars.
please start praying about what we can do, yada, yada, yada.

Okay, here's the dilemna. Don't the build their own machines? Didn't they already have all the volunteers they needed in Brooklyn? Didn't they have perfectly fine machines, and perfectly fine buildings? I am freaking sick that they are doing another "costly" project when they've been saying that we will not be doing many quick-builds in the US, maybe remodels, because we(the US) have more than our less priveledged brothers, and we don't need them, they do! Give me a freaking break!
recently i have run into a few people that wanted to discuss this topic.
i believe i am a type a or driver personality although i know it goes alot deeper than this but confused as i took two tests and came out as esfj and isfj.
imho and based on human nature i have felt that people tend to romantisize there own perceived personality type.. i am interested in this from the standpoint that perhaps what we perceive as our personality type may not be how we come accross to others?!
At 16, INTP--at 40, INTP but now much less introverted, much less aloof, much more in touch with my 'gut feelings' and the feelings of others....
Keirsey calls the 'test' a 'temperament sorter' and shows that even though we each have a basic temperament category that we fall into, that by no means defines who we are or are to become as an individual.
My exwife, beckyboop, is an ENFJ through and through, but often came out ESFJ when around her Witness girlfriends...
ENFJ is the perfect complement to INTP, and in many ways we got along incredibly well. --A couple should always match in the S/N category: S-S or N-N, since that is our 'worldview'-- We knew a couple of ENFJ men in the borg too, and even though they seemed to be hotheads, I always enjoyed being around them.
My partner is a classic INFJ which is also rare in a man, and in our case, this is the perfect match!
yesterday i sent dr. phil an e-mail (which i'm sure he will review personally.
well, here's my suggestion: how about as many of you as feel comfortable e-mail dr. phil too and suggest that as a topic.
that might get his attention and we might get a little more attention directed to the danger of associating with jehovah's witnesses.
This is a great idea, you all!
Oprah tends to lean towards positive stories now, though, so we could approach her with a slightly different angle--such as how we have used our experience as a springboard to bigger and better things in life.
I, for one, would be willing to share how I have faced my fears of losing everyone I knew and loved to become a happy, college-educated, career-oriented and productive member of society.
compared to a morbidly obese, goose-stepping, used-and-abused, ministerial servant
well, i guess i work bass-ackwards sometimes.
i started posting on here about a year ago when i was moved by some threads.
i even helped to organize a local apostafest last may through the forum, but have never formally introduced myself.
Hi everyone, I'm chiming in as the ex-husband.
Of course I lived almost 11 years of Becky's story (including 8 years of marriage), so I know the details. I feel her passion in her writing, but your responses to Becky's post have really moved me.
I'm not going to tell a long story. I was active on Randy's forum, then his private Delphi forum and H2O, and they served their purpose for me.
What I can tell you now is that Becky is an amazing woman, and she (like all of us) is truly finding her way on this fantastic journey of life. She is deep and caring and witty. She's a true friend to those who allow her to be--I say this because being a true friend means being open and honest even if it is painful at times.
She has been a true friend to me. We have shared the delirium of true love, the satisfaction of 'serving God' together in all earnestness, the pits of despair at the prospect of losing our faith and all our treasured relationships, the pain of looking into each other's soul and confessing our own truths....
I'm eternally grateful for the joyful result: true friendship. We share friends, family, and newsy bits--the good and the bad. We are ecstatic for each other in our new intimate relationships and expect only the best for each other.
Life truly is grand, but to have friends like Becky along our individual paths of discovery is my wish for all of you, too. It requires superlatives as yet uncoined.
passing this on from bill bowen...milton g. henschel (1920-).
born around 1920. .
he was baptized while adolescent and in 1939 was already bethelite.
Uncle Miltie was the classic mindless drone.... I have a picture from summer 1995, myself, my ex-wife, and a good friend posing with Milton in front of the older residence building in Brooklyn (I don't remember the street address). When I approached him about getting a picture, he said, "Sure." But he made certain that we split up on either side of the bronze Watchtower plaque on the wall, saying "This is what it's all about."
check out the "nice" article by the brooklyn eagle a couple of weeks ago at:.
http://www.watchtowernews.org/moveprinting.htm.
how long before they have to sell the brooklyn plant, or will they move the patterson people there just for punishment?
The whole area is experiencing a renaissance and their property holdings in Columbia Heights are now very valuable--especially because they have kept them in such fine condition.
There is a lot of development and rehabbing going on right now, and the Society is looking to cash in.
i'm beginning to change my "no" answer on this.
this seems pretty close to it.. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid=564&ncid=564&e=3&u=/nm/20030211/ts_nm/iraq_usa_planning_dc_2.
u.s. plans for two-year occupation of iraq.
Ok, I gotta weigh in on this one!
Grunt--WTF!--Puerto Rico is still a US territory; so are Guam, the Marianas, and much of Samoa. The US still has bases in many nations, including the Philippines. All of the USA west of Texas was TAKEN from Mexico. Please, bone up on your history lessons, and don't fall for the media hype and government propaganda.
i have heard that there will be an announcement of a new arrangement for brothers to receive answers quickly to questions regarding the organization, doctrines or general issues.. instead of having to write a letter, mail it and wait for a response, there will be a new system that allows a person to call the society directly and get an answer over the phone.
with all of the events currently in the news regarding the organization, i was told this was in response to complaints from both brothers and those sincere interested ones that the response time via regular mail is too long.. as i understand it, the system will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
all the caller will need to do is dial the special number (it will be listed in all publications and flash periodically at the bottom of the screen in all new videos) and be put directly in contact with a person to discuss the issue.. there will be various topic lines such as doctrines, general comments, the daily text, secret sins i am trying to overcome, etc.
Isn't it interesting that flipping a coin would actually be more scriptural than the judicial committee...
Invoke the 'bible-based' principle of the 'Umim and Thummim' or casting lots, whatever.
im not sure if is prudent to post this here.
i have a contact ( relative ) that is very close to a writing department researcher.. he claims that there was a private extraordinary meeting that was had about 6 months ago.
9 of the gb members were present and a handfull of elitists that apparently no-one knows or would recognise.
This is a very interesting thread, but it seems to have proceeded along discussing mainly one possible outcome.
What if they are preparing this 'booklet' as part of their overall attempt to further separate the religion 'Jehovah's Witnesses' from 'the Society' in the minds of their adherents?
Ever since the new corporations were set up a couple of years ago, they have continued to subtly distinguish 'the faith' from the legal corporations that are supposedly only set up to support the activities of the faithful. Listing Larson and Simonis (sp?) in the front of the Watchtower here in the States was a HUGE change, for example, and this has stumbled one couple that I know. So, no matter how they try to cushion the blow, they can't prevent the continuing fallout.
