Hang in there, something will come around. In the meantime, here's a little joke to brighten your day.
An RCMP officer stops at a ranch in Alberta, and talks with an old rancher.
He tells the rancher, 'I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs.'
The old rancher says, 'Okay, but don't go in that field over there.'
The RCMP officer verbally explodes saying, 'Mister, I have the authority of the Federal Government with me.' Reaching into his rear pants pocket, he removes his badge and proudly displays it to the farmer. 'See this badge? This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish..on any
land. No questions asked or answers given. Have I made myself clear? Do you understand?'
The old rancher nods politely and goes about his chores.
A short time later, the old rancher hears loud screams and sees the RCMP officer running
for his life chased close behind by the rancher's bull.
With every step the bull is gaining ground on the officer.
The officer is clearly terrified.
The old rancher throws down his tools, runs to the fence and
yells at the top of his lungs.....
'Your badge! Show him your badge!' -

I was counceled once because I left the stage after my talk before the following brother made it to the platform. The elder told me it was not appropriate to leave the platform vacant.

Someone told me that to give a talk at the assembly brothers had to wear a matching suit, in other words, jacket and pants could not be different. Does anyone know if that's true?
Our KH has the bring your dirty diapers home rule too......but everyone just keeps flushing them down the toilet instead. A few times meetings have been cut short due to blocked sewage pipes......hmmmm....I may have something here.

When I was a kid the attendants wouldn't let anyone go to the washroom if there were only a few minutes left in the meeting. That came to an end when the mother of a kid that was stopped got up and blasted the attendant in front of everyone. This was almost 30 years ago though.

So my mom now knows I'm apostate
by JWinprotest ini finally broke my silence yesterday in a discussion with my mom.
for months now i have been dropping hints here and there that i am not pleased with many things happening in the org, but i would always present it from a concerned jw prospective.
my wife wants us to remain closet jw's because she has bigger reservations of displeasing her family than i do, and wants to continue playing the game.. yesterday however my wife wasn't around, and for the 100th time my mom was ragging on me for attending one of my best friend's weddings because he was marrying a non jw, and the fact that his df'd brother was there.

Thanks all. Oompa I never thought about it that way. If I convince my mom to leave who will she turn to at her age? I think you're right, I think for her sake, at this point it's best to cut our loses and keep quiet. As for my wife, she knows the WT is bs as well. Actually she's a lot more critical than I am. She doesn't want out because she's worried about family. I think it's mainly because my wife does not have a close network of friends outside the family, (in the org or out) family is all she has. I on the other hand have a very extensive network of friends through work and so the shunning wouldn't affect me as much, although I am convinced my family would not go that far.

No difference between Jonestown massacre and WT teaching
by JWinprotest incan someone tell me what the difference is between jim jones convincing 900+ to kill themselves by injesting poison and the governing body convincing 7 million to die should they need blood to save their lives.
i don't get why government doesn't put them both in the same light..

God bless these two for taking the bull by the horns and going after the WT like this. I wish I had their courage.

Creative ways to pad your field service hours
by keyser soze ini was usually honest about my hours for the most part.
but there was this one time..... i was auxiliary pioneering back in april of 2000. that was also the month we had planned to go down to south carolina to visit my brother, was living there at the time.
the trip was the last week of the month.

there were also many times that i just put down 4 hours for the month when i did nothing just to make it look good and keep elders off my back
My wife and I have been doing this for a while.....I feel so guilty though. I usually ask the territory servant for my own territory to explain why nobody has seen us at the field service group. About 4 or 5 months later I turn it in with 2 or 3 foreign language remarks maybe I'll throw in a do not call every once in a while and I'll ask for a new one. Phone territory is the best for that. I almost got busted though a few months ago at a sunday meeting when a sister asked my 4 year old, "did you go in service today?" and my kid just looked at her like, "what the hell are you talking about lady". Last time my daughter was out was when she was 2. I think this sister is on to us and she's fishing for info.

I've noticed something different at this years district convention
by JWinprotest innot sure if this was the case elsewhere, but i noticed that the contribution boxes with the people attending them stayed out in the hall ways throughout the entire session.
they used to be set up only before and after sessions and during lunch......times are tough!

oompa that answered our question. My wife and I were wondering when they had made a brother in our cong a MS because we saw him as an attendant at the convention......but I guess their standards are going down.
