So I had this girlfriend in the Borg that had a kickbutt accountant. Her accountant in Minneapolis says they can claim it on their taxes as charity work. I questioned it as illegal, she said about 1/3 of the K hall uses her accountant now too, and they are all using this new tax procedure. They'd look good in stripes behind bars, huh? I had never heard of it before either. Sounds too much like what they pinpoint "Christendom" as doing.

Alot of people in the cong where I live use the religion as a tax write off. They deduct gas mileage for field service, if they sign up to volunteer at a District convention, they can deduct all their hotel usage and meals. I even know some that would deduct toilet paper, electricity and $10 a week for a snack, just for having the book study at their homes.
And we now know the motive behind the zealots!!

A Dating Site For Jehovah's Witnesses?!
by Blue Grass ini discovered a site called www.jwmatch.com which have pictures of individuals claiming to be jws looking for others jws to date.
based on the watchtower's anti internet stance and meeting people online, i doubt this website is real.
has anyone else seen this site?

Interesting. However it does not help those that want the hell out of that religion. Maybe there could be a dating website for people that want out of the org. The sex one PP suggested might just do the trick. It could be "Future disfellowshipped JW's".

No simplified study material for children?
by jabberwock ini thought i would share some highlights from an interesting questions from readers (wt 52 6/15) that i recently cam across:.
why does not the watchtower society publish simplified material for parents to use in teaching their children bible truths?a question based upon frequent inquiries by readers.. .
...but from this we may not argue that the faithful and discreet slave class must publish special books for children.

WTWizard; That has been something I have noticed as well. Children do not seem to be welcomed in the KH. Maybe that is my own personal opinion, but here is where I have noticed this to be true:
1. Although there is no provision to make meetings more pertinent to children, they are to be completely silent. I have had elders come up to me and try to take my child so that they are subdued. There is nothing more comforting to a tired two year old than to be abducted by a complete stranger in a suit who never talks to you otherwise.
2. My old K hall did not have a mother's room. I had nowhere to nurse a child. One elder told me to nurse on the toilet (A chair wouldn't fit in the bathroom). Gross! Who wants to eat lunch on a toilet?
3. Children have to sit through programs such as "The Godly view of sex and marriage" like an adult. Um...no wonder us kids were so socially illiterate.
4. Convention time: We were instructed that the children could not have toys such as a doll or a toy car to pacify them. There could not be crayons or coloring books. The children can have a pen and paper, along with their Bible, and take notes for three to four days. Do not let them nap! And don not give them a snack!
5. Hours of field service entailed very few breaks to let a child rest.
Who wants to be a future pioneer?

Don't they always tell us to keep on the watch?? I have been told since I was knee high to a grasshopper to be watchful. I wouldn't make it to kindergarden or graduate high school. And now I have a teenager. Hmmm....should I keep this paranoia in the bloodline?
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz........................
I think not. Let's just live the lives God gave us.

well, you've got to expect a bunch of the people that come here to believe in supernatural things, right?...
Kudra: You are so right on this one. We have been blinded by an org that brainwashes us to believe that Satan will hijack our cars and posess our bodies if we leave. I don't have any ideas on this. Undecided. But I don't buy the JW crap anymore. I never walk down the streets of my town and think "That man must have a demon problem. Nobody in their right mind would wear those spandex pants."
Just ain't happening.
