after reading coc, and after the shock of it, many of us hurried to leave and hurried to get our families out only to find ourselves on the outs with our loved ones.
but is that the best or only option?

I do not believe in the immortality of the soul which leads to the belief in eternal torment in hell. I believe that for those who will not accept the doing of good towards their fellow, those who have proven themselves beyond all reason and who resist becoming people who love their brother as themselves but rather desire to rule over their brother, that these will suffer eternal non-existence.

Well, no, actually the best explanation was that he was not deceived and let it be at that. Why it is that some want Adam to be some man so in love with his wife that he defies God, is beyond me. He was not deceived and he blamed God and his wife. Why do we need anything more?

The belief that Adam sinned in order not to lose his wife is a supposition not supported by the account itself. To believe that Adam sinned because he loved his wife so much but then turned around and blamed her and God for his sin does not add up.

This thread was about an option, nothing more. Who here would remain quiet while a loved one is denied a lifesaving blood transfusion? There is no either/or. Only the option to at every turn do what we believe is best for us whether that means speaking loudly or speaking quietly and taking each day as it comes.
you know, the one from the usa branch/brooklyn.. well i ventured a question to a relative who is an elder here in the uk to see if a similar letter had been sent to elders here.
he knows i was an elder and he lets me joke with him to a certain level about how controlling the society is lately.. he confirmed that one has been received and he laughed because it says you can use a d-ring binder (which i guess is the equal uk term for the us "spiral bound" as long as you don't let worldly people do it and that you have to watch the brother do it.).
i asked whether sisters were allowed to do it and he said even the society wouldn't go that far and smiled.. sooooooo .... i am wondering if this uk letter has had the "sister" stuff pulled because it is such an embarrassment?.
Actually, a great service has been done for the Society. In the future they can just put their own link on the Watchtower site for the elder book and save the paper and postage!

"I've got children in my family that I will encourage to think long and hard about baptism, and to wait as long as possible. I will remind them that Jesus was an adult when he dedicated himself and that no one has the right to push them to do something they are not ready for. Same with Bethel, or marriage. I'm going to have frank discussions with them about college or trade school. They need to support themselves. And especially no getting married too young. Geesh."
