Growing up JW kid: do you recognize

My father always said, the show goes on, so he had a respectable community job, advisor of the City counsel of the town. And buying ald building houses for us. We were on the move.
What I remember is the many conversations at home about the other witnesses. Not about doctrine but about people. And their strange behaviour.
I remember my survival modus in the organization. At school, college and work believe was never a topic. Became MS at 18 and did public talks at sunday.
It never captivated me at all. It was an empty shell.
Survival modus started at a very early age. Avoiding discussions. Take no stand. Letting it flow. Neutral. Feeling an outsider.
Now I know that my JW youth was not that bad at all. We were not indoctrineted and were making plans years ahead. One thing was not good: all the loose of time, we could invested it in better things. And because it was not done to go to University, I had to start with this when I was 35.
My original question was: do you recognize this?

Was it just me or was something different about the memorial last night?
by kpop inthis was the first memorial that i declined to do any work for the memorial.
i was assigned as a parking attendant after getting downgraded from doing the sound and had no intention of doing either task but i had to attend for my family and continuation of my fade.
i sat there last night listening to the talk and couldn't help but shake my head as my brain attempted to process the bs.

Memorial
by Gorbatchov inwhat i noticed during the memorial is the over organised ritual aspect.
for a non jw is must be hard to follow.. for me, i noticed that during the memorial there is no attention for the historical jesus and the historical events.
it's all about the kingdom arrangement with it's central point, the governing body of jw.. do you noticed this also?.

You say it, and I noticed it also: the elders did the job totaly on routine. They did not act from their hart. Rushing the welcome, reading the script and rushing the end message.
I think: the elders don't believe it for them selve anymore.
And yes, the songs have strange lyrics.
It has become an empty shell!

This years memorial defeated me and I didn't even go

i would say about a year.
i was part of an ex jw chat that was very helpful, but a few months ago stopped being apart of it.

What I noticed during the memorial is the over organised ritual aspect. For a non JW is must be hard to follow.
For me, I noticed that during the memorial there is no attention for the historical Jesus and the historical events.
It's all about the Kingdom arrangement with it's central point, the governing body of JW.

when events occure like trumps tomahawk strike on syria, putting bombing a place and many, many coalitions are made with friends and enemies, my thought are going back to a 40 years ago, when i was a litle boy raising up in a cold war naval harbour town in northwest europe.
my jw grandfather learned me to investigate history.

When events occure like Trumps Tomahawk strike on Syria, Putting bombing a place and many, many coalitions are made with friends and enemies, my thought are going back to a 40 years ago, when I was a litle boy raising up in a cold war naval harbour town in Northwest Europe. My JW grandfather learned me to investigate history. The bookstudy was in those years filled with long time ago and current history. It all came together in Fred Franz's prophecy books. The king of the north, the south and army's, tanks and rockets were the subject all culluminated in Armageddon.
So the world has not changed since then.
Do you still have this feeling with current events?

Getting older, losing loved ones

getting older, i am so sad thinking about years ago and missing my family members.
am i the only one believing they would never die?.

Why are the individuals who make up the Governing Body so deluded
by UnshackleTheChains insurely these men must see what's going on.
if they can afford fancy pinky rings, they must have smart phones.
if they have smart phones, they must be inquisitive as to how they are perceived.

They don't believe it for them self. They are the one who really know how the JW belief works. They know for sure there is no telephone line to upstairs. They know they are on top of the frame, that's it, there is no more. They must feel empty. And scared, to lose it all.
