For me, The Firm was an eye opener.
The fake friendships, the loyality first, just like jw world.

the truman show is on tbs tonight and i know, it's been mentioned before here, but it has to be a movie that gives jw's the creeps.
jw's know something is not right in the wt fantasy land, but until they have that epiphany, that the wt has lied to them, the jw is just left with a niggly feeling of "something is just not right" in the back of their mind.
now when jim carrey- truman burbank- figures it out and becomes self aware of the lie, everyone around him tries to redirect his focus away from his epiphany , then convince him he is the only one who see's a problem.
For me, The Firm was an eye opener.
The fake friendships, the loyality first, just like jw world.

i normally don't bother going to the midweek jw meetings much.
however, upon reading in the april 2017 meeting workbook that there was to be a video about erich frost (former do for saxony & nazi prisoner in sachsenhausen concentration camp) i wanted to attend as i had read about this brother in history texts by detlef garbe and hans hesse.
i had also visited auschwitz several times and noted that the museum had a display / exhibition about jehovah's witnesses.
They should made a clam video about Paul Balzereit. This brother, is abused by Rutherford and Knorr. They lied about this honnest brother. Gave him the blame for their anti seminist letter and declaration. And then excommunicated him. Since knowing this I hate the JW leadership. They will kill you if it's for the porpose of them and their property, then and now.

on http://avoidjw.org/2017-regional-convention/ you can find the talk outlines of the regional convention this year.. i looked into the final talks each day and found these releases to be announced:.
on saturday:.
new magazine-size book entitled "lessons you can learn from the bible".
The return of the wife of Lot...
I can still hear her ugly cry in a 1970's drama that has hurt me when I was a little boy.
Now I f*ck*ng hate those drama's for the pure emotional abuse they are.

short info on interesting changes to the major conventions this year: there will be a new security concept that will be implemented at all regional conventions in 2017.. similar to other major events (e.g.
festivals, concerts), there will be admittance controls in stadiums.. - at each entrance, there will be a massive presence of attendants that look at each visitor.. - there will be pocket checks at the entrance.. - suspicious persons are no longer left on the convention grounds.. - suppliers to the stadium will be intensively inspected by attendants.. - there will be a special sign for attendants that must enter the stadium before 7.30 am.
all others (even all attendants) can only enter after 7.30 am..
Here in Holland the conventions are since 2017 no longer in public buildings like the usual stadiums and convention centers.
From now on the conventions are held the whole summer through in the own jw circuit fascilities.
It keeps the money in the jw organization and is more an internal gathering, like the circuits.

this is obviously a question for the older generation.
i'm really curious what it was like to be a witness in the 60's and 70's?.
was the society as strict as it is today?.
In the 70's I was a little JW boy, believing his sick brother, his grandparents and every body he loved would never die. You can imagine what happened...
The congregation was strict but with more love for each other. That's all gone now. Real friendship and compassion. With strange folks. Funny folks. Funny things happened. Now it's an American dream showroom. Then people were authentic.

the congregation i attend had it's watchtower study on thursday night because of l.d.c work this week-end, and another congregation i have some not very spiritual friends in had their watchtower study on wednesday.
from what i have delicately prised out of people, the congregations loved the watchtower study this week, saying it was so encouraging and all the usual stuff, with no-one seeming to realise the g.b.
said they're not inspired, so the spirit int he past has moved them to teach wrong things, and all the other ideas excellently summed up on reddit.. today's watchtower will wash over the heads of most j.w's like it never even happened, the all remaining as loyal as ever, and it makes me so, so sad..
Just visit this study wiith truths, half truths and lies.
Conclusion is that GB are the most humble men in the organization.
And the corporation is separated from the spiritual part.
How blessed we are bla bla.

next weeks watchtower.
'who is leading god's people today' is quite incredible.
i am so looking forward to blondie's comments on this one.
In a healty, succesfull organization, ready for the future, the focus is on the employee and the customer.
In this organization all the focus is on the leadership
Not fit for future.

i'm a little dumb struck to see that donald trump's first cross word against russia are in support of the jws.. http://fox-news24.com/trump-warns-russia-over-jehovahs-witnesses-ban-and-urges-members-to-seek-asylum-in-the-us/.
is this because trump genuinely values freedom of religion?
or is it because his son in law jared kushner has financial dealings with the jws?
as we all know, this picture is the subject of much controversy.
this is the picture that the wts stole and put into the live forever book.
please note the lower left of that picture.
When I noticed this girl in the book when I was a young boy, I was in love instantly.
