YPA change of picture

anybody got any idea why the cover picture on the young people ask book was changed?

they removed the picture of the boy bottom right & superimposed a different head.

maybe the guy got dfd or maybe it was to change it to an asian guy rather than 2 caucasians?

Watchtower had different issues with illustrations of local witness. No white people in those magazines (i think that is not injust).

Kind of local marketing.

if you went to it, (or go later this week) how was it handled?

just the video or some commentary too?.

i have heard of a few negative comments from some that attended - one jw even openly said to me "not very encouraging, all they go on about is money lately" and another (a serving elder, no less) said "someone's got to pay for all those lawsuits".

Nicolas King: JW celebrity and example of hypocrisy

nicolas king frequently sings with the watchtower chorus and had a supporting role in the dvd released at the 2014 convention.

(he's on the bottom row, second from the right.).

but he also is a jazz singer, traveling constantly performing at concerts, casinos, charity events, even a brief appearance on the tonight show.

where they stand is a strange mixture.

yes, they don't agree with abortion and homosexuality, they believe in the bible and wear skirts and ties to church .

but in many ways they're liberal.

Remember the First "Young People Ask..." VHS?

do y'all remember the young people ask tape that came out in the late 90s about "bad association"?

i was a fairly small child with teenage siblings and watched it often (with family and alone cause i thought it was the inside scoop on older kids).

that was back when worldly was still very much so a part of dubspeak (i think they started encouraging people to stop saying it in the mid to late 2000s).

The format YPA was not bad at all, at that moment in time, was my opinion. Just like the book about all world religions (that never made it to the bookstudy... because of reasons). Both books, with the Greatest Man book, were refreshing to me, after all the Fred Franz oracle books.

I think, at the end of the 80's and beginning of the 90's, it was not bad to have this information... some topics I never dare to think of (:
