  i am a new to posting on this board though i have been actively reading your posts the past while and i thank some of you for the interesting viewpoints that you have verbalized and that i have enjoyed thinking on.

  i am still an active jw, in fact an elder of 20 years standing hence my need to limit information about my personal circumstances.

  i have served in a number of countries in europe as a pioneer and elder over the past three decades.

  Enjoyed reading your post. I am no lover of the Governing Body but if what you say about them is true, then there may be hope for some of them. Personally though it is very hard to understand how they can envision themselves as Christ's right hand and feel the weight of their responsibility yet continue to fail so badly.

  They may work hard but to what end? Is it really to serve God?Then, they are of all men most to be pitied since the God they claim to serve has not answered their prayers! Why? Because while the name of God is on their lips the name of the Organization is in their hearts. They serve the Organization not God!

  i was just wondering about most of you guys.

  since you aren't jws anymore, what are your beliefs now?

  have you rejected the bible as a whole?

  Hi Flowerpetal,

  For me there is no religion that meets the standards that Jesus
  set. I will not join any church. I still believe in God and also that parts of the Bible do contain good things. I am waiting for the Christ, this is what I do.

  This is a public forum. No one needs an invitation from a participant in order to post. In addition you have shown that you have overstepped yourself, you cannot show that I "used the chat to lash insults at Farkel" because I did not. You are backtracking!

  You said I lashed insults at Farkel in the chat room. Could you please explain exactly what "insults" are you talking about? Also, I had never been in a chat room before. "Discussing nothing", was simply trying to get my bearing. BTW I did say there that I thought Flowerpetal was not given a fair shake.

  Conformity does seem to be what is required sometimes on XJW Discussion Boards. Otherwise the tendency to "put down" the offending poster would not be so prevalent!

  my secret wish, when i was about 10 years old and we were going through the revelation book for the second time, was that one day we would show up at the book study and all the baptized brothers would be missing and they would let me read.

  i was pretty sure that i wouldn't mangle words like thyatira and laodicea nearly as badly as some of the poor brothers they roped into reading at times, who looked like they were being tortured during particularly difficult lessons.. i liked to read, i thought.

  my older brother got to read a lot, even when he wasn't baptized.

  Hi!,

  This subject is very near and dear to my heart and I know it must also be to many JW and XJW women.

  The Apostle Paul put in place restrictions upon women that Jesus did not! It was to a woman that Jesus first appeared after his resurrection, and it was a woman that he sent to tell his brothers of his resurrection. What greater news could be delivered? The most important announcement that could ever be made was assigned to a woman!

  Yet, so called religious men ignore this and put in place what "tickles" their ears, the words of Paul!

  Anyone out there?

  my name is clark.

  i have been disfellowshiped since december 31, 1991. i attended the redwood city north congregation and was disfellowshipped along with an elder on the same night...you do the "mathwork.".

  i am new to this sight (about 1/2 hour) and am not familiar with the format of the do's and don'ts ... or even if i should be here.... however, i have a question for anyone...(and i'm ready for the answers whether it be from over enthusiastic jw's or people who understand...or from anyone in between).. i was disfellowshipped because i openly admitted before 3 elders that i am gay and lived this life as a gay man despite being previously a regular pioneer and a ministerial servant.

  Jesus rejected religious hypocrites, false teachers. He did not reject anyone else! Be yourself. Help others to have love and to show love.

  thank you for this board i was enjoying many of the posts here for some time.

  being from russia, i also enjoy this melting pot atmosphere of the fearless norse, nonchalant aussies and unostentatious americans and i really do like your britishers jolly good sense of humour.. and then comes slang: i was enjoying deciphering all the btw fyi imo imho acronyms.

  today that i think i understood what lol means i decided to sign in.

  Hello Simon,

  I read your post a few minutes ago and registered just to say HELLO. You seem to be an articulate and discerning person. I particularly enjoyed the descriptive comments regarding the various national origins of the posters. It was very good!

  Thank you for discussing something of what's going on there in Russia. I think for many American brothers the Russian brothers remind them of the American pioneers who settled the West. They are admired.

  I sympathized with you when you described how you felt after conducting a Bible study. I used to feel that way also. As for the Daniel book it is very sad to see the writers unable to "open a window" and let in fresh air. Much of the Daniel book is only a repetition of old publications.
