To Jst2laws, clarification please
by IslandWoman inyou said about ray franz and the governing body arrangement:he was the reason that the gb arrangement took place.
this change did not take place because a dissident corp member was looking for a chance to manipulate the political structure and take over.
it took place because r franz was seeking biblical truth.

Jst2laws,
You said about Ray Franz and the Governing Body arrangement:
he was the reason that the gb arrangement took place. This change did not take place because a dissident corp member was looking for a chance to manipulate the political structure and take over. It took place because R Franz was seeking Biblical truth.
Yet Ray Franz wrote:
Weighing that position back then, it seemed evident to me that if a "governing body" had existed as a central administrative body in the early congregation then there should be some evidence beyond just a single meeting in Jerusalem to support this. Nowhere in the rest of the Scriptures did this appear. In all the writings of Paul, Peter, John, Luke, Jude or James, not one indication could be found that men in Jerusalem, or any centralized body of men, exercised supervisory control over what went on in the rest of the many places where Christians were located. Nothing to indicate that the activities of Paul or Barnabas or Peter or any other person were carried out under the direction and supervision of a "governing body." In Search of Christian Freedom page 47
Your statement and Ray Franz' are contradictory. I would appreciate a clarification.
Thank you,
IW

Would Ray Franz be the President of the Watchtower if........
by IslandWoman inif the governing body arrangement had never been implemented could ray franz have become the president of the watchtower after his uncle or henschel died?.
i believe in coc ray franz said that if knorr had been president the events of 1980 would probably not have turned out as they did.
so do you think it is possible that by now ray franz would have been the president of the watchtower if the gb arrangement had not taken place?.

This would not make a good presidential candidate, imo.
You could be right, Minimus.

Hi Plum,
Maybe it's not either/or. This DB is not real life, it's a cross between a cauldron and a warm fuzzy teddy bear. It's not real life. Perhaps you should take a break from this place and look outside the JW and exJW communities for a new life and new friends. I hope you find a third place for yourself and move on from the JW and exJW world.
I know many exJWs have done just that. They don't post on exJW boards or even look for association with exJWs, they have left it all behind. I hope you find a third place for yourself, please try before you go back!

While I don't understand how someone can be charged with assault when doing something which is either agreed upon or requested by the other person, I would not have posted as I did at the beginning of this thread had the charge been one of assault and battery rather than criminal negligence.
How anyone could have been a JW and taught others the JW doctrine but now as exJWs do not understand why JWs sacrifice their children is beyond my capability to understand. Why belong to such a demanding religion if you don't really believe it? (I am not speaking about Shunned Father but about some exJWs who now say they would never have let their children die when they were JWs.)
All baptized adults, who attended meetings and participated in field service also gave their tacit support to the blood doctrine. All the children in their hall could rightly think that brother or sister so and so also believes that to take blood is against God's law. How could we as adults not recognize the need to be damn sure what we are, who we are and what we teach? It is hard for me to understand that some baptized adults just sat around a KH not believing the blood doctrine. This is life and death, wake up people and take responsibility for your actions, if you as adults sat at the KH and gave any kind of support to the Tower you also sanctioned the Blood Doctrine. Silence is not golden in this case it is complicity.
The fact of our previous support for the Watchtower Blood Doctrine cannot be annulled, every JW adult is responsible for supporting the Blood Doctrine. We all did, if not by word then by silence.
This post is not directed at any one individual on this thread but to the exJW community as a whole.

Simon,
My family lost a child to the blood doctrine. He was a teen, he refused blood, his parents being JWs supported his decision, he was declared a mature minor by the court and he died. Shunned Father's daughter got a chance, she was given the blood my relative had no chance at all.
If his parents had read that article they would have been cut to heart. They are now exJWs but the pain and loss of their child lives in front of them everyday. They suffer, should they now also be charged with neglect? That would be so horrible, so debased.
To all JW parents: If you teach your child the blood doctrine be very sure you truly believe it because some day your child may follow through on what you taught them. "Train up a boy according to the way for him; even when he grows old he will not turn aside from it." Pro.22:6 How many times did we have that scripture drummed into our heads, it is very true. Religion cannot be turned on and off like a switch.
Most JWs are not monsters, they are believers of what most us also once believed. That is not a crime!
This mother has suffered enough don't you think? The whole family has suffered enough. Now Shunned Father wants to force his other daughter to live with him, a father who wants to charge her mother with criminal neglect for doing what they all had been trained to do years ago.
Shunned Father lost a daughter, but so did his wife. Shunned Father now wants to charge his wife with a crime. The crime of what? Doing what he himself also once believed?
If you feel my first post on this thread violated a forum rule or is in some way harmful then please go ahead and delete it. I would ask though that this second post remain.
Thank you,

Are these the "crucial" years for the Watchtower ? Is time running out ?
by run dont walk inor can they keep it going another 100 years.. maybe i'm being a little too hopeful, but i think the next 10 years are do or die for the watchtower.. is was different back in the 20's 30's 40's 50's and 60's, they could get away with changing doctrine and "new light" and new ideas.. but today, people are different and more independent, and question things a lot more.. the "annoited class" is almost gone, regardless of the bs figures they give, .
1914 is all but dead, .
literature is not available like it used to be, .

He is also calling on Arliss Hughes to be charged with criminal negligence over the death of Bethany,
This is sick. The "criminal negligence", if there was any, started when Bethany was raised a Witness and taught the Witness blood doctrine by both her parents.
This is a stab in the heart to those exJWs who have lost children to the Witness blood doctrine.
Disgusting.
