A Good Day in Field Service is Totally Cool!

remember when you were a dub and hated to go out in service.

well i'm a df'd dub and i got my own message that i've printed up and i've been going to all the kingdumb hall i know and working the territory that surrounds the kingdumb hall with this tract, and the response is totally great, here is the tract i use:.

jehovahs witnesses keep coming to your door because they dont want you to be destroyed at armagedon.. all members believe they belong to the only true religion and every religion except theirs is from the devil, and that god will destroy you for not being a jehovahs witness at armagedon.. you must serve the watchtower and let the watchtower control your life or die eternally that is what the jehovahs witness believe.. .

Glad to hear you had a good "field service" day.

Perhaps the residents of your territory would appreciate being told about the Jehovah's Witnesses "Do Not Call" list. By requesting that their address be added they could help tired JWs in their area to have fewer steps to climb and fewer doors to call on.

I am going to inform the people in my area about this most kind arrangement provided by the JWs. LOL

Seriously though, I may print out something similar to what you have and give it a go in my area also!

too late for your situation, but i'd treat her as i've come to treat my jw family: leave religion, the truth, jehovah (and the rest of that jw baggage) out of all conversations... unless they bring it up.

and even then, don't expect much.

Now we have a chance to evolve back into the JW.com prior. What an opportunity! What was lovely about this place was that we could breathe, say hello. We had dumb & excellent threads. LOL, the same could be said for the posters. And, yes, we did argue. But, for the most part, we did remain civil.
Perhaps if not peace, at least a Cease Fire could be called - and an honest effort to refrain from insults......no matter who started them last week?

Good advice, thanks Waiting. It seems though that the Cease Fire call will have to come from the members of this board first since it seems that Julie needs to have the last word.

Let's let her have the last word if it means that much to her and as you say: move on.

Many of us (women) need to be loved so badly, but if we must beg to be loved, it is no longer love.

When a man loves he shows it. But like the song suggests we should ask for some "straight talk". We need to know the score.

As a mother of two young women, I hope they take the words of this song to heart. We don't need to beg, it just ain't that important!

i know the word, "organization" has a bad taste.

but it is a fact of life that to get anything done on a grand scale in this world, good leadership and organization are a must.. we lack organization, much of what is said and done is a hit and miss thing except for the u.n. problem.

thanks to those who took a lead and the others who followed their lead some damn good work got done!

I wasn't talking about some sort of dictatorial hierarchy or anything close to that. What I was talking about was a couple of respected people who would write and encourage the organized distribution of leaflets or their organized mailing or another effort. That's all. Just some organized activity. There are people here who are talented, have a respected name and can say to the rest on this board: "Here is the tract, let's go with it!" We were salesmen before, we can do it again!

If that's not a good idea, so be it.

Hi Amazing,

I am surprised many times by the inability of xJWs to leave the Watchtower phobia. I am able to communicate right now because there is a system set up and that system has people who manage it. Why does the idea of leadership seem so scary to xJWs who declare they have left the Tower and it's small minded thinking? Who of us is not benefited by organized systems? We get garbage pick up because of it, we get a burger at McDonalds because of it.

Organization and leadership are all around us, sure it causes problems but without it there is no civilized society and no successful efforts to fix that society. In addition, Alan's assumption of a "de facto leader" was off the mark. What would be needed is a group of men and women who were respected and willing to do the work involved. No org. to join, no common beliefs or whatever, only a common goal.

Just my thoughts.

Thanks to those who took a lead and the others who followed their lead some damn good work got done! That's my point! We could do a lot more good work, great work, if we were organized enough to follow a band of renegade and "smart" xJW leaders!

The Watchtower I am sure is very grateful for our disjointed efforts, for even these have given them much trouble. Imagine what an organized effort could accomplish, what a publishing effort could accomplish! IMO, we should imitate their example. We should organize, publish and co-operate with one another.

New Light - what it really means

but let's analyse why that statement is made.

i have heard it used when i made points like: "how can it the organization be spirit directed if it makes mistakes and chanages its doctrines?

Thank you GD. You expressed so well what I have felt for a long time. "New Light" is just the latest spin on their theology, nothing more. Apologies would be something decent, honest and human; traits many fundamentalist religious leaders are devoid of.
