gosh i feel so sorry for them... They friendships and relationships they have are so shallow and they are scared that it is even worse outside of the religon. Imagine the freedom and love they could experience if they were out!

Oct. 15th WT - WT Society Manipulation " Find True Friends Only in JW land"
by flipper inwell- you knew this was coming next after the article of how to be jesus friend.
so the wt society was setting it's members up to seek friends only in the ranks of jehovah's witnesses.
basically in this article " maintaining friendships in a loveless world " - even from the title you get the impression the wt is showing that the world is loveless- but the jehovah's witnesses are not.

I can't get past the bitterness.....
by desib77 ini don't know why but lately i have been so intolerant of people.
i find myself bitter when people spew nonsense as if it is fact (political, religious, etc........).
i went on a girl's weekend with a good friend of mine (non jw) and everytime she started talking about how blessed she is and how god put stuff on her heart i felt ill. i feel ill just telling you about it.. so, am i the only one feeling bitter these days??

LadyLee is right. After being a JW for so long you are in this mindset that it is rude to tell people you don't want to hear about their beliefs. Plus I found that I wanted to show how tolerant I was.
But it's okay to say you don't want to hear it. Be tactful of course but you will feel empowered and your friends will appreciate knowing where you stand on these matters to. And if they don't like it then hang out with people who don't mind.
The bitterness will pass, I can promise you this.

Ever had some Witness storm out or turn off a Movie you were watching! Which one?

he plays a fake faith healer.
their were a couple swear words, and the brothers asked me to switch it off.. same thing happened with christine applegate movie {pg 13} "don't tell mom the babysiters dead.

hehehe this brings back a memory
i was visiting with my friend and the CO was visiting and was staying at her house, outside in his caravan. Well we decided to watch SCREAM and naturally were screaming all the way through it. (now don't get started into me about how tame it was this was the scariest movie i had seen as a JW) Well the CO comes running in thinking we were being killed or something. When he found out what happened we were given SUCH A LECTURE.
hahaha, gosh this makes me laugh remembering it!

Dealing with a 'molested child' in a Judicial matter.
by dissed ini'm trying to respect the privacy of this individual, so forgive me if i'm a little too vague in my descriptions.. this for me, was the most emotional and difficult judicial matter that i have ever experienced.
its been many years since this happened and i'm still troubled, and troubled for this individual.. a young sister had committed fornication and i was chosen to sit on the judicial committee.. the case didn't make sense at first.
she was a faithful example in the congregation and was very much liked by all.

oh gosh dissed. that's awful. the guilt you must feel. the treatment of that poor girl. I feel so bad for you and her. If you can send her a note of apology i think it wouldn't hurt. try find her. just to send the note.

by snowbird inher son, jesse, is in serious condition.. my son is in surgery and may lose his hand and arm.. jesse got an infection in a cut on his finger.
his finger and hand swelled to the size of an arm .. .
they have to do surgery on his hand and arm.

MY 20TH BIRTHDAY

Elders Trash Face Book
by sammielee24 injust found out that elders and spies are trolling face book and my space.
some elders in xxx congregation began trolling face book looking for wayward souls and using the links to other friends etc to get more info.
they waited until they had enough ammo on the 'friends' and then printed off some of the conversations being had....questioned the 'friends' who of course denied everything..and then they produced the printed copies to catch them in the lies.

Instead of concentrating on helping the young ones, youth camps/groups, they troll the popular websites to see if they can catch them doing a no-no. Helping the flock is completely outside the realm of possibility. What a useless bunch of leaders.
That is how it is set up from HQ...no "extra" effort to help couples or youth or anybody...just keep everybody in fear of expulsion in order to "keep the congregation clean."this is so true. They get more of a kick out of catching someone doing something wrong then seeing someone 'progress' in the troof (vomit)

by dissed inas a newbie here, only having discovered this site a few days ago, i wanted to share with you my early observations and impressions.. being out of touch with the witnesses the last 13 years, i didn't realize sites like this existed.. my thinking was all apostate sites were places of doctrinal discussions on the trinity, hellfire, etc... with bitter x-jw's ranting 24/7.
so i was never excited about allowing more controversy to my life nor visiting such sites.. this is different.. what i'm noticing is that most here seem to be well versed in witness doctrine, much more so than the visiting jw's.
perhaps there is a protection for the wts in keeping people ignorant?.

I think you'll fit in here just fine! there's some people who like to have a wee argument with posters now and then but I think 99.99% of people stick around becuase they found healing here and stay to help other newbies.

now i don't even have any connections to him.
i don't know anyone he knows and i don't even know basic things like where he lives.. any help on someplace where i could look him up would be appreciated..
