Hey, I missed not going to the convention this year more than my husband. It was sort of fun packing up the mini cooler with lunch and snacks. Now if we had really gone I am sure the novelty would have worn thin fast.

It is so important for exiting Witnesses to ADD to their lives, not just take away. Make new plans. Go some place you have never gone before. Find out wher local events are advertised and try one.

A congregation of self-flagellating hedonists. What I mean is that they congratulate themselves for their sacrifice by doing the thankless door-to-door work, and having given up any hope of an earthly future, they run amok as soon as they are left off the reservation. After all, they don't attribute any restraint or self control on this present generation. I agree, totally unprepared for the "golden years", old age, and retirement.

I have used credible breaking news here with my husband. He depends on JWN to get the inside scoop on new publications and enough information on the conventions that he can "fake it".

Elders answer questions about the changes of the blood ban
by opusdei1972 insome days ago two elders visited my sister because she has not been attending the meetings more than one year.
this time she prepared notes containing watchtower past teachings about the blood ban so as to ask them for those changes, and it seems that the elders were also prepared for her past questions.
for instance she showed them that "albumin" was considered "under scriptural ban" in 1956 (read the page 20 of awake, september 8).
