This Diana woman says she doesn't care about his past but my feeling is she may change her mind. I could totally see her telling someone on the internet she doesn't care then confronting Lloyd about it after having a think over it. As a court reporter she surely would have a radar to how somoene reacts when confronted. Wally can't be the only person who contacted her or will contact her.

@Slimboyfat One theory I had on his no-money outburst was that he may have had to pay for something that day that he didn't think was fair. It might have been about paying for his kids haircut feeling his wife should do it. It seemed too random with the details and manic. Looked like a lot of misplaced anger to me. But that's just me playing armchair psychologist.

@Simon
This is why I think Lloyd is missing a few marbles. He's not just *not* smart, he's actually dumb.
It's curious that the psychologist Andrew Gold interviewed (couldn't find the video on Andrew's page) about Lloyd mentioned he felt he was a psychopath (IIRC). The definition of a psychopath: a mentally unstable person especially: a person having an egocentric and antisocial personality marked by a lack of remorse for one's actions, an absence of empathy for others, and often criminal tendencies.
Psychopaths can be cunning while calm yet totally stupid when they feel insulted often acting instead of thinking.

@Las Malvinas son Argentinas Very good point about him saying it wasn't negotiable. Didn't even put that together. As you state makes a very strong case for extortion. Also probably very wise not to hire a lawyer. I priced a few but in the end I think we all kind of feel like there isn't any point right now.

@DerekMoors How I understand it (also not a lawyer), is there can't be tampering if there isn't a trial. They would have to actually charge him with a crime first, then he would need to put pressure on Kim to recant, fail to answer or change her testimony. That's when it becomes tampering and not before the criminal is charged with the crime. What you're saying is criminal coercion. Not sure if Croatia has a law on this.
Interestingly enough I've always wondered if an AG in the US could launch a case against WTBS charging them with criminal coercion on the state level for covering up child sex abuse. It would be pretty easy to get a jury to dislike WTBS. If they showed up and seized documents and servers it would probably be a treasure trove for investigators.

@DerekMoors Very interesting legal theory with regards to witness tampering. I'd think it wouldn't be a crime until someone is an actual witness in a living case. Because the "tampering" is done to affect the trial, not the crime. At this point, he's simply asked that there be a trial.
If he were some hated public figure I'd think the government could for sure go for extortion. In our case, I think it's a very big legal hill to climb. Their claim will be that they were simply requesting damages be paid. Not worth the government's time. Just like if Lloyd's legal team(?) got some sympathetic prosecutor no way the case gets cleared up the ladder. For both financial and jurisdictional reasons.
Interesting to think about but will probably never happen.

As others have said this is very evident that Lloyd has largely lost his network which was vital to his brand.
TheWallyB You make a very good point.He also may have told her, but he completely spun it as some minor thing by a few "obsessive ex-cultist". If he told her, it's got to be a massive blow to his ego because it means she immediately took the safe/side.That means she didn't buy his story. If he didn't tell her, wellclearly he isn't too worried about the supposed harm caused to his reputation.**edited: Didn't realize you talked to her Wally. That's wild he didn't tell her. Just shows how truly narcissistic he is.

@Diogenesister That's interesting about his Dad so I guess I was wrong. Is it maybe that now his Dad makes money? There was the media company he owned that Lloyd also had some dealing with that reported 1.5 million in assets and earnings.

I remember when this happened and I'm sure I fed into his delusion just because I was happy anyone was in the news that brought up bad jw policies. I remember a lot of exjws being happy about that even if they didn't agree about Russia. So it would make sense that he would convince himself of how awesome he thought it was.
Funny watching it back now. He looks like he has no energy and is uninterested. The angle he chose was not flattering at all. He gave nothing for the reporter to work with. He kept trying to focus it on disfellowshipping. Their energy was total opposites. Also, it seems the interview was less about his viewpoint and more about him defending an organization he despises.

The top part and bottom half of Lloyd's story feels like it conflicts. The bottom half sounds like a wealthy family. My guess is that early in his childhood his Dad had a bad luck streak. Then quickly recovered and got wealthy. Also, IRRC his Dad's company reported an income of around 1.5 million last year, I think it's somewhere in this thread.
