@slimboyfat thanks. I always get annoyed though when I think I've been all creative and can't find much comperable and there's a bunch of them 🤣. Should just always come here first! I'm just hoping mine holds up to some of these others.

Nope, not at all! I actually did a search for YA JW novels and only came across a handful and none with this name.

@LMSA.... didn't he also have tons of volunteers helping him? It seems like he probably pocketed the bulk of the money. Not sure if he did any marketing.
By the way for anyone looking for a link for my book it's on the previous page.

Thanks for the interest, everyone. The book is called, "I Was a Teenage Door Knocker" (amazon link below). It's my very first book (so keep that in mind) but so far all the beta-readers liked it. Would love if anyone reads it to give me their honest feedback! If you buy it thank you sooo much!

So as the title suggests I wrote a book why is Lloyd to thank? First let's rewind a little. When I was a teenager I was a pretty gifted writer and was put in academic and AP classes for English/lit classes. My job eventually led me to marketing where I do creative and writing for a living. So, when the Lloyd Evans scandal blew up it made me revisit Reluctant Apostate. I get why it became popular but at the end of the day it's really just a run-of-the-mill auto-biographies that his audience paid for. Well if that joker could write a book so could I.
So I got to writing. I had been listening to the Tom Sawyer audio-book and it reminded me of my friends and I. I started thinking about how few books are written from the perspective of a young born in JW who doesn't want to be there, who doesn't have much faith, one of the "bad association" kids. I also wanted to keep it funny while also covering some serious issues in the faith. Within six months I had written a 240 page novel.
It was even more satisfying that I didn't need anyone to pay for me to do it, or beg for everyone else to do the small things. I concepted the artwork, wrote everything and outsourced editing (though that could be improved). I also opted to self-publish which was pretty easy. Really the whole process was something I could do all on my own with a little budget. Makes me wonder why Lloyd had to raise the amount he did.
So I can say Lloyd helped me, he helped me realize he was a hack and if he could write a book surely I could. I know it's a little petty but hopefully some find it more entertaining than his.Anyway, I also posted something similar on Reddit but figured some may get a kick out of this on here. Not sure if it's ok to share the title or a link to my book but if it is I'll share it.

@Diogenesister so long as they are used with commentary over it, it should fall under fair use. It wouldn't stop him from striking but there is a defense behind it. Also, another video platform could be used which would make it harder for him to strike.

@TonosOH, legally he would probably have a case. Whether YouTube will do anything about it is another story. AVA may want to put some big parody disclaimers up to help avoid a strike.

The power of A.I. lol. I'm sure Lloyd is contacting his lawyers post haste. I just want to thank Lloyd because after seeing how bad his book actually was it pushed me to write my own book, I was able to do it on my own, in about 3 months without begging for money. So thanks Lloyd.

I Wrote a Young Adult Novel About Being a Witness...Looking for beta-readers
by pr0ner inhey everyone, i posted this over on reddit as well, but recently i wrote a young adult novel about the pressures of growing up as a wtiness.
i am looking for some volunteers who would be interested in reading it and giving me feedback.
the novel is a little over 75,000 words and would be around 200- 250 pages in book form if i were to guess roughly.

Thanks @Diogenesister, I would say it's aimed more towards the 16 and up crowd. I tried to write it in a style adults would enjoy too, especially ones not too familiar with the religion. As for the editing, I've made a pass at it and will likely get a professional editor, right now I'm more just looking for some folks to read it and let me know if they felt it was a good story or not.
