One of the most common thing thrown at atheists is - lots of intelligent people believe in god. This Darkmatter 2525's video is an excellent explanation as to why very logical people possess religious belief systems.

Sorry to bust anyone's bubble but the "bible" was written by misogynist desert nomads attempting to explain life

Hi Park Ave Boy, most people on this forum are pretty much aware that the bible is neither inspired by god or beneficial for anything. -

Beards galore at the Assembly
by Truthexplorer inok, at our recent assembly, i noticed that there were quite a lot of brothers wearing beards.
not just the older dudes, but right across a range of ages, young men, middle aged men and older men.
is watchtower beginning to relax this rule at last?

Doncha just love religion. We are told God made man in his image, but the OT tells men cut off their foreskins and the WT tells them to cut off their beards. -

Tanzania News Update
by mana11 ini wanted to share with you some feed back from this region.
since you could say tanzania and other regions within africa are the last hard to reach places on the earth.
it is where the www preaching work funds are directed, as being justified to get your donations.there are now no longer any foreigners at the branch within tanzania, they all were told to go.

Can an inactive family member hold back a MS appointment?
by Simon Templar ina friend asked me if a man can be appointed a ms if he has an inactive (inactive for 15-20 years) baptized adult child living in his home.
the child lives by the rules and doesn't do anything wrong (jw-wise), as i am told.
i know the child (adult) and is a good kid as far as i know.

Almost £1/4 million siphoned off?
by The Searcher inaccording to charity commission records - http://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/accounts/ends60/0001065860_ac_20120331_e_c.pdf - the chelsea & kensington kingdom hall in the centre of london had in 2012, "funds-on-deposit arrangement to branch" which amounted to 220,000.. i wonder how much they still have "on deposit", and how the fleeced sheep in that congregation are feeling now?

Only a congregation in Chelsea could have that much to put on deposit.
