  am i the only one who gets incredible irritated by the excuse "they are only human"?

  don't let any of the watchtower's propaganda deceive you.

  i encountered some private conversations among witnesses about the subject and it's ugly.

  yes, there is suffering as many of these victims try to live on charity and can't find jobs in the worst economy since the depression.. some of their private observations include shock that you need a college degree for nearly any job and that the watchtower society couldn't have picked a worse time to do this to them .. all the while these complaints are discussed, i try not to show that i am astounded by their bizarre "logic".

  The worst part is that although I know I should rally and get on with my life and pursue freedom, there is something like a "self-destruct mechanism" planted in my brain by JW teachings. "The world is hopeless. Look at all the problems. There are no real friends out there. Nobody who leaves is really happy." And all my friends and family are in the bOrg. Although I'm trying to fade and ease my mind and life away from the cult, it's a battle to admit that I've wasted so much time and energy on a lie.

  Billy - I hope you can get on with your life soon. I can't even start to imagine what you are going through, being brainwashed as an Elder at congregational level is hard enough to deal with, being indoctrinated by the Bethel routine must be harder than escaping drug addiction! Good luck.

  Complete irrational fear of wasps for me. I know the sting is minimal but there is something about that yellow and black body - yuck!!!!

  ahmadinejad's anti-western speeches and comments on the holocaust have in the past caused an international outcry and isolated iran which is at loggerheads with the west over its disputed nuclear programme.. the hardline president warned leaders of western-allied arab and muslim countries about dealing with israel.. "this regime (israel) will not last long.

  Ahmadinejad says a great deal to appeal to various influential groups in Iran. These statements were made quite some time ago before he was "re-elected" earlier this year, this hardline stance earned him the support of the religious leadership and we saw how their influence helped with his election "win".

  He doesn't seem care what the rest of world thinks, but I am certain he realises that if he aggrevates Isreal enough they will take unilateral action against Iraq, targetting military and nuclear installations.
