My wife thinks I am the perfect man. She has never said this but I know I am the perfect man so she doesn't need to. Also her computer is broken so she can't argue against my supposition.

The Caring Elders
by cantleave ini would be interested in your opinion of the following:.
a friend told me about an incident that had happened in a neighbouring congregation.
she told me that a sister from the congregation needed to get back to work after a meeting but discovered that she was boxed in.

Thank you all for your helpful and practical advice. I'll certainly be passing on the thoughts from here, whether she takes your advice remains to be seen. What is encouraging is that everyone feels similarly about the situation.
Thank you all again.

Just Thought I'd Share..
by AwSnap inwe have some close, non-jw extended family staying with us....they drove 700 miles to get here.
they will be here for a week....so far it's been about 5 days and my jw sibling has seen them for one hour.
my sibling has been doing field service, family study, there's a meeting tonight, and family worship night.

Hey Satanus, can I some of whatever you were on? Seriously, IMO the sub-conscious is very powerful and is affected by our earliest influences. If you were brought up to believe in Demons as a child, this is part of our sub-concious paradigm, and can be made a reality by the sub-consious under certain cirumstances, e.g mental stress / anxiety, drugs or even hypnosis.

The Great Crowd Don't Even Inherit the Earth.
by cantleave inthis came up on another thread i started, but think it desrves it's own, as it is a complete revelation to me.. .
the mild-tempered ones are happy because they will inherit the earth.
jesus, who was mild-tempered and lowly in heart, is the appointed heir of all things and is therefore the principal inheritor of the earth.

So between 2004 and 2008 the teaching has changed. 2004 Great Crowd inherit earth, 2008 Annointed inherit Earth and let the Great Corwd live their if they meet the requirements. What a crock of Crap.

did you find the dubs were always late?
by highdose ini found the higher up the socail rank the dubs got, the more tardy they were for everything, meetings, ministry.
and of course when you invited them round.
so many times i can remeber the food spoiling/burning and 45mins to an hour later they would decide to finaly turn up!

The congregation is a reflection of normal society demographics. Some people will be late others early for everything. The early people despise those who are late.

Black Sheep - Great suggestion, but the British museum is at least 4 1/2 hours drive from Manchester.
