  in 1988, the california supreme court ruled that nontherapist clergy do not have a duty to refer suicidal persons to medical professionals.

  I am not real sure how it works but pretty sure doctors and such by law it is mandatory to report to propper athorities if they suspect someone to be of danger to themselves or to anyone else, I know when I seen a shrink one time told me the conversations were confidential unless the shrink thinks the patient may harm themselves or someone else, so would not the wording in the "Sheperd the Flock of God" book be in violation or violate federal law? Because the book tells the elders to just record it and put in a confidential file... and "IF" they have a question about a case to contact the branch office.

  It should read Obey the law of the land and contact the athorities pronto if you have questions, or if you do not, do not pass go, go directly to jail...

  I mentioned this before on a thread, but I knew my brother in another state was in serious emotional trouble, I read in a WTS daily bible reading that JW's ever hearing of another baptized member in trouble that other JW's would go out of their way to help the baptized member, and from statements that my brother made to me in the past when he come here to visit and wanting to visit this particular elder, I thought that it would be good for this elder to call my brother, so I told this elder and the elder said "well I will have to give him a call then" and he took the phone number I gave him, but he did not call my brother and a few weeks later my brother commited suicide.

  Imaginary friends

  as part of a talk with my daughter last weekend i informed her i had an imaginary friend with me.. his name i said was kevin and he was a little leprechaun.

  i asked if she believed he was true and there... i said i see not, therefore i am never going to speak to you again until you come to me and tell me you believe.... she got the point.... oz.

  Why the hell do I feel like this suddenly?!?!

  today i saw a friend that is still a hardcore jw.

  she knows we're not going to meetings, but seemed pretty cool with it and was willing to have lunch with me, so i thought why not?

  she mentioned something about the convention coming up in a couple of weeks, and all of the sudden i got so nostalgic and felt like maybe i wanted to go.

  What Term Can Replace "Publisher" ?

  indulge the possibility that, as profits from printed materials become thinner, watchtower might want to stop having members carry printed materials to the homes of many.

  i know it will probably go through more phases of "cheapening" the materials (softcover books, pamplets instead of brochures, flyers instead of pamphlets) but let's consider the idea that they will one day cease delivering anything printed.. the door-to-door work is huge in controlling members and monitoring loyalty.

  pioneers are their biggest supporters.

  Why No One Should Judge You For Celebrating Holidays

  I would like to add to my theory that if God remembered the man that abandend true worship and went with the Baal worshipers and yet God give him a descent burial, why would God give him a descent burial if God was not going to give him some sort of afterlife???

  In a book study I remember something about some men in the bible who was with God's people (Isrealites or something) but anyway he was a follower then he went with the others (Baal worshipers or something) but anyways God had them destroyed and the one man that left their beleif God give him a descent burial, the only one out of all that was destroyed. That was supposed to show that God does not forget when you do something for him according to WTS, but I think it should be telling us that you do not have the right to judge and what ever someone else is doing is between them and God.

  Has anyone ever worked for a Home Health Agency service Sales position? Home Health Care Account Executive?

  i'm being offered this position that's 50k a year, which would be a termendious raise from my current nursing profession and i'm very interested, but also very timid and nervous.

  i have a pretty solid job right now, which a schedule that works 7-3 day shift.

  i pretty much am living pay check to paycheck worrying about makin grent etc.. because of all the financial obligations.

  It really is to hard to explain and don't know if I should talk about most of it just yet, but home care providers were taking care of my Mother and I don't know a lot of home care providers did not like me comeing to visit my Mother (that is the hardest part to explain) and there were one I think was defrauding the government by reporting more hours then she was putting in and I think she was doing the same in another state at the same time and when I called a service for the elderly and frail to see if we could get more help the gal must have thought that I told on her and made lies about me and others made lies about me and the condition of my Mother she was alright when I was around and when I wasn't there she was different, people just come around just the right times to make me look bad, and I think some busy body JW's were involved too, but anyways I was like interagated by the police like something really terrible. It was like the police had tunnel vision and were getting at things that I could not understand what they were getting at because what ever it was wasn't true because I have been the only one that has been helping my Mother sense I found her a little over 20 years ago when she disappeared for several years and familly and JW's thought that she was disfellowshiped but after I got her reinstated come to find out she disassociating herself, the elders brought up a 37 year old letter after familly and I had already grown up without a Mother and a father and I am the only one that understands that my Mother was kidnapped by that man not DAed. She could not answer to the letter because she was being held captive by that man with the use of mental and physical abuse still no one understands the way that I do and realize now that was the greatest mistake I have ever made getting my Mother reinstated.
